The Self-Employed
Women’s Association (SEWA) is a women’s trade
union that was started in Gujarat in 1972 by Smt. Elaben Bhatt, with the aim of
organising women in the informal sector. SEWA represents the convergence of
three movements–labour, women and co-operative movement. SEWA‘s goal has
been to achieve full employment and self-reliance for all its members. SEWA Bharat (www.sewabharat.org) is the All India Federation
of Self-Employed Women’s Associations that works with women workers in the
informal sector in 9 states. In
all these states, SEWA is involved in organising women workers and their
development through Self Help Groups, Co-operatives and Federations. SEWA
activities include Micro Finance, Social Security, Housing, Education, creating
market linkages and Skill Development for women workers.
Only women candidates
willing to travel extensively and with zeal to reach to grassroot should apply.
Preference would be given to candidates with Masters in Social Sciences/ PG in
Rural Development.
Applications
are invited from young women for the following posts:
1. Uttarakhand
State Coordinator –Based in Delhi (Only Female candidate)
SEWA Bharat runs various programs in Uttarkhand
which is spread over various districts like the Financial Inclusion, Economic
empowerment through Cooperative, Rights based initiatives, Disaster
Rehabilitation, to name a few. Liaisoning with Government bodies, Banks and
Funders would be crucial. She needs to coordinate, scale up and develop all the
programs simultaneously.
A candidate, open to travel and not below 4-5
years of
extensive field experience with excellent written and oral communication should
apply. Should be fluent in English and Hindi with thorough knowledge of MS
office including Power Point, Word and Excel.
She should be based in Delhi but will have to
travel across the state at least 15-20 days.
Salary
negotiable based on qualification and experience.
2.
Microfinance Associate
Coordinator-Based in Bhagalpur, Katihar or Munger in Bihar (Only Female
candidate)
Microfinance is an important program of SEWA
Bharat. In Bihar, this covers at least 5 districts. SEWA Bharat is looking for
a person who is enthusiastic to travel, learn and deliver. She should be
willing to move extensively in the rural areas. Must have good communication
skill with proper knowledge of MS office and basic account. A
fresher with pure Science up to graduation and or Masters in Social
Sciences may apply. Preference would be given to candidates from
Bihar.
The candidate should be ready to travel for about
two weeks in month.
Salary
in the range of Rs 17000-20000/-p.m.
3. Programme
Coordinator, SEWA Bharat Special Project –Based in Delhi (Only Female
candidate)
A candidate who wants to be associated for a long
term and having not below 2-3 years of extensive field experience with excellent written and oral
communication may should apply. Should be fluent in English and Hindi with
thorough knowledge of MS office including Power Point, Word and Excel.
The candidate should be ready to travel for about
two weeks in month.
Salary
negotiable based on qualification and experience.
4.
Senior Accountant- Based in
Delhi (Male candidate can also apply)
Qualification: B.Com
/ M.Com & having knowledge of tally
Experience – 4-5 years
