TITLE: Inter Personal Communication Coordinator (Under PEHEL Project)

Population Services International, India is a registered Indian Society dedicated to the improvement of public health in India. Over the past twenty years, PSI has collaborated with the GoI and a number of donors to increase the use of modern contraception for family planning, to provide products and services for the health of mothers and children and to decrease the spread of HIV/AIDS. PSI harnesses the vitality of the private sector to address health problems of the low-income and vulnerable populations using social marketing to achieve positive behaviour change by promoting ideas, products and services conducive to better health. PSI promotes and distributes 11 health products, using commercial channels and outlets to make available quality health products at affordable prices. The basket of products includes condoms, oral contraceptives, intra uterine devices, emergency contraceptives, ORS, water purification solutions; IFA tablets; clean delivery kits and pre-packaged STI treatment kit. PSI India is currently implementing an integrated behavior change program for better health of women, named ‘PEHEL’ in 30 districts spread across three states-Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi. The objective of Pehel program is to reduce unintended pregnancies, maternal mortality and morbidity among low income women of reproductive age. This project comprises of two components i.e. prevention of unwanted pregnancy using Intra Uterine Device (IUD) and increasing access to Safe Abortions. The WHP program caters to the target population of Women of Reproductive Age (WRA) in 15-49 age groups, living in urban and peri-urban areas, belonging to the B, C and D socio-economic class.

A. POSITION PURPOSE: 
Provide intensive support and direct management and training of team Interpersonal Communication Coordinators

B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Planning and supervising the day-to-day work of Interpersonal Communicators.
2. Motivates and facilitates the team for the expected outcome through regular meetings to discuss problems encountered, best practices and sharing lessons learned in fieldwork. 
3. Assists Interpersonal Communicators in planning visits and setting work objectives, performance improvement plans. 
4. Provides guidance to Interpersonal Communicators in designing and implementing activities in their respective towns. 
5. Ensure that the deliverables assigned to the team members are achieved in time.
6. Ensures that the team members are trained to perform their jobs effectively.
7. Ensures timely submission of qualitative and quantitative reports by self and team.

C. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduate or Post Graduate, Preferred Masters in Social work with 3-4 years’ experience in supervising on ground communication activities.
