About SLF
SaveLIFE Foundation (SLF) is an
innovative nonprofit organization established to tackle one of India's most
serious epidemics: the dramatic escalation of road accident deaths in India
with 15 fatalities recorded every hour on average. With the help of Bloomberg
Philanthropies, Global Road Safety Partnership, Ashoka, Echoing Green and other
organizations, SLF is creating high-impact solutions that help to save
countless lives. Realizing the crucial role that trained bystanders can play in
saving the lives of road accident victims, especially given the lack of EMS in
most parts of India, the organization has successfully developed an
award-winning model of emergency care, which trains, connects and mobilizes
community volunteers and police officers to the aid of injured victims well
before formal care is available.
SLF is currently advocating for a
comprehensive national road safety law for India including a supportive legal
environment for bystanders to come forward and assist injured victims without
fear of danger, harassment and intimidation.
