Job Purpose
Save the Children is initiating an education project in
Sinnar block of Nashik district. The project aims to create evidence based
model for improving quality of education for children attending government
schools. It will be implemented in collaboration with Education Department,
local communities and the School Management Committees in intervention schools.
Education Resource Persons will work closely with the Cluster
Resource Coordinators (CRCs), schools principals and teachers and play a role
of catalyst to improve quality of education in assigned 3-4 schools.
Main Responsibilities
• Responsibility
for effective planning and implementation of the project activities ensuring
that the project delivers on its objectives and within the agreed time frame
and financial allocations.
• Build and strengthen effective working relationships with Cluster Resource Coordinators, Gram Panchayat members, Head masters, Teachers, SMC members, Children, Parents in the project villages
• Work closely with community, parents and school management committees to ensure hundred percent enrolments, retention and effective usage of Building Learning Environment in Schools (BLES) components and practice for ensuring implementation of Quality Education in Government School.
• To capacitate Cluster Resource Coordinators, teachers, SMC members, students, parents from the assigned project villages on issues related to quality of education and project components including BLES.
• Deliver on outputs - in line with the objectives of the project.
• Maintain quantitative and qualitative reports and records of the initiatives conducted in the project schools/ villages.
• Develop schools/ village wise monthly plans, execute the plans, monitor progress and submit reports to the Project Officer on regular basis in assigned formats.

Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor
Degree in Education (B.Ed)/ Master Degree in Education (M.Ed.)/ Graduate/ Post
Graduate with experience in Education Field
Experience:
Minimum 2
years of substantive engagement with schools/projects focusing on quality
education
• Teaching
Experience at Elementary Level
• Planning
and conducting capacity building programs for School And Community
Professional Competencies and other
requirements:
• Comprehensive knowledge of key issues in elementary education
• Practical knowledge to prepare lesson plans, use of innovative teaching and learning tools and methods for improving learning outcomes in schools and ability to transfer these skills to other government teachers
• Commitment and desire to improve quality of education in government schools and willingness to closely work with government teachers, children and community members.
• Ability to operate and promote cost-effective approaches to maximize resources for children.
• Knowledge of Spoken English and Computers
• Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively
• Commitment to Save the Children’s vision, mission and values.
• Ensure compliance with Save the Children’s policies and practices, including the Child Protection Policy.
