LEPRA Society (www.leprasociety.org) began its journey in 1988 and since then making relentless efforts in meeting the needs of the population suffering with Leprosy, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Blindness. It is also promoting effective solutions to the problems that impede social development in the remote and rural areas in the four states of Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.

LEPRA Society, is looking for suitable candidate for the “Physio Technician” position based at Indore.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Physio-Technician you will Plan and implement strategy for PoD PoWD for disability problems to meet agreed/ performance plans within agreed budgets by utilizing, analyzing the data in the project.

1. ASSESSMENT OF PoD / PoWD NEEDS :

• Assess the nerve function of leprosy cases at disability/screening camps/clinics, home visits for the cases referred by the community health staff to preserve the nerve function, vision by providing adaptive devices, training in self care practices to the patients, families and communities.

2. PHYSICAL REHABILIATION OF LEPROSY PATIENTS :

• Identify all the disabled cases suitable for reconstructive surgery and put them on pre operative physiotherapy and post operative reeducation so that he or she restores functional ability. Keep a complete record of each case

3. SUPPORT AND GUIDANCE:

• Support / guide the District Leprosy officer , NLEP staff and PHC staff in detecting early nerve impairment / neuritis and managing them in time .On job training to the field staff during visits and develop the technical capacities so as to reduce the disability in under treatment and RFT cases .

4. FOOTWEAR MANAGEMENT

• Provide footwear to all anesthetic foot cases by collecting GI foot measurement from from field staff , Taking GII foot measurement in person, and ensure supply of materials to shoe technician, monitor the quality of production at shoe unit and issue the footwear to all needy patients within one month. Take feed back from the patients periodically to improve/check/assess the quality of supply.

5. MAINTENANCE AND SAFEGUARD OF ASSESTS :

• Ensure periodical servicing , insurance renewals and maintenance of equipments like wax bath, muscle stimulator, infra red in lamp, ultra sound machine, grinding motor, sewing machine in working condition.

• Prepare a maintenance check chart for each machine / all the machines to ensure trouble shooting.

6. DOCUMENTATION AND MONITORING:

• Prepare tour plans and maintain the daily dairy, weekend report, vehicle log book, update the disability register .Compile periodic reports, formats and timely submit in time.

• Prepare and update individual patient record of all disabilities to identify the trends and changes in the disability status to monitor the progress.

• Ensure periodic supply of adaptive devices to the needy patients.Procuring, checking and replenishment of PoD/PoWD supplies to the patients.

• Participate in the review meetings with relevant data to consult/ discuss the short falls and to find out the reasons and possible solutions to get/ensure necessary support and guidance.

Qualification, Experience & Skills:

• Education: Graduate with Diploma in Physiotherapist
• Experience: Total: 3 Years and Relevant: 2 Years
• Working Knowledge of Computers
• Demonstration of Self Care Practices
• Confirmation of difficult to diagnosis and new cases referred for bacteriological examination.
• Maintenance of Physio equipments
• On the job training skills

Salary: Rs.15,000/-

Position will be on contract basis for a fixed term.
