JOB DESCRIPTION 

Title: Program Coordinator

Location: Jhabua in MP        
  
Reporting to: Program Manager Education

SUMMARY

ChildFund India has recently been awarded a grant “250 Faces of Hope: Scholarship Program” to support the higher education of 250 girls and young women from deprived, excluded and vulnerable communities. The project to be implemented in four locations – Jhabua district in Madhya Pradesh, Udaipur district in Rajasthan and Malkangiri and Kalahandi districts of Orissa - will target girls and young women in the 16 to 24 years age group over a period of 3 years to complete their higher education

The coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of the project in the identified location.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the roll out of the Girls Scholarship Program in the targeted location. This includes working closely with the Manager Scholarship Program, Program Quality and Program Implementation and Area Teams to effectively deliver the project targeting girls and young women in the 16 to 24 years age group over a period of 3 years
• Support the effective implementation of the project, through preparation and implementation of work plans and timely delivery of project activities
• Maintain and update project data and periodically share analysis and trends with supervisor
• Monitor the project through regular field visits, interaction with beneficiaries, educational institutes and other stakeholders
• Support the manager in effective reporting of the project
• Represent the organization in external forums through presentations, networking, publications, and engagement in the development discourse

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Education, Sociology or other Social Sciences
• 5 - 7 years of experience of programs related to education or gender
• Experience of working with partner organizations and coordinating with multiple stakeholders
• Up to 70% travel required
• Women candidates will be given preference

COMPETENCIES

• Knowledge of participatory community development approaches
• Excellent presentation, public speaking and interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills, with familiarity in using internet and Microsoft Office applications
• Organized, team player, self-starter and results-oriented individual
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken Hindi and English. Knowledge of local language will be an asset.
• Strong integrity, commitment and dedication to the cause of children

EDUCATION

• Master’s degree in Social Sciences
