Job Description: 

Programme support

• Assist in developing program implementation strategy and annual plans including budgets, within a broader framework of vision and mission of IDEI
• Assist in translating annual plans into operational procedures and ensure compliance with procedures
• Work with the Chief General Managers, Regional Heads and the field teams to monitor their performance and achieve targets within planned expenditure budgets
• Assist in the design and implementation of marketing support activities including marketing communication, promotional schemes and trade marketing activities
• Consistently interact on field with smallholder farmers, channel members and field teams to identify best practices and issues of concern
• Review channel management and logistics practices to monitor performance and identify areas of improvement
• Communicate best practices for uniform application across the organization
• Develop solutions to address issues of concern and ensure implementation of the same in collaboration with the regional teams
• Identify and engage with external service providers as per operational requirements of the organization
• Assist in monitoring and reviewing program budgets

Business strategy

• Assist in identifying new concepts and project ideas for economic development of rural communities
• Assist in deeper engagement of the organization with local communities at all levels
• Assist in developing field based experiential insights to share with donors and to enhance donor engagement
• Assist in providing inputs for program strategy by collecting, analyzing and summarizing trends

Line function
• Manage the MIS function including improvement and design of MIS for increasing efficacy of information flow and utilization within the organization

Qualifications / Work experience: 

You would have relevant work experience, preferably in the development sector, with the following minimum qualifications and skills –
• MSW/Masters of equivalent degree in rural development, rural marketing or agriculture
• 3-5 years of work experience in a rural business/rural development operations
• Candidates with multi-state experience of managing rural marketing operations would be preferred
• Experience in rural marketing/development operations spanning Hindi speaking states would be preferred
• Experience of directly reporting to top management level and assisting in or driving business strategy

Key competencies

• Proven record of achieving team results in target driven high pressure environments
• Demonstrated ability to work with peers who are not line reportees and collaborate to get desired outputs
• Comfortable with numbers: marketing budget development and monitoring experience
• Proven ability to communicate with people at different levels
• Proven record of achieving targets
• An individual who is articulate with independent thinking and is able to support views with logic and reasoning
• An individual who is patient, able to listen and get the work done
• Proficient in both spoken and written English and Hindi
• Proficient in using technology to monitor field activities
• High familiarity in working on MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
• Willing and able to travel 10 to 15 days in a month including rural interiors on field visits in program States
