BACKGROUND:
Ipas Development
Foundation (IDF) is a Section 25
non-profit company, founded in 1973, is a global nongovernmental organization
dedicated to ending preventable deaths and disabilities from unsafe abortion.
Through local, national and global partnerships, Ipas works to
ensure that women can obtain safe, respectful and comprehensive abortion care,
including counseling and contraception to prevent future unintended
pregnancies.
Ipas has been working in India for over a decade towards
strengthening training systems, service delivery of comprehensive abortion care
services and advocacy initiatives to increase women's access to safe abortions,
with the aim of making a positive impact on the health of Indian women. Ipas engages
closely with the government at the national and state level to provide technical
assistance to strengthen the comprehensive abortion care policy and program
interventions. Ipas program’s geographic coverage currently
includes 11 states - Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan,
Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Assam, West Bengal and Meghalaya - where
they work with the public health system to ensure improved access to abortion
and contraception services for women.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant Manager Program (AMPs) shall be responsible for facilitating Comprehensive Abortion Care (CAC)/ Intra-Uterine Contraceptive Device (IUCD) trainings, to improve maternal health and reduce maternal mortality and morbidity, facilitating service delivery by trained providers and documenting status of service delivery. AMPs shall work closely with the concerned State Program Manager and be responsible for supervising Executive-Program.
The Assistant Manager Program (AMPs) shall be responsible for facilitating Comprehensive Abortion Care (CAC)/ Intra-Uterine Contraceptive Device (IUCD) trainings, to improve maternal health and reduce maternal mortality and morbidity, facilitating service delivery by trained providers and documenting status of service delivery. Key
Roles and Responsibilities:
(1) Managing
implementation of CAC/ IUCD trainings at designated centers in
the state, including coordination with master trainers and nominated doctors
for training;
(2) Monitoring training quality and providing assistance in resolving any concerns that may arise in implementation;
(3) Liaising with Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), District Program Managers (DPMs) and other officials within the state;
(4) Following-up with each CAC/ IUCD trained provider to ensure 100% service delivery, identifying issues affecting service delivery and helping design and implement solutions to facilitate service delivery;
(5) Providing support in improving documentation of CAC/ IUCD services at all service delivery sites;
(6) Documenting activities and preparing reports on program status, as necessary.

4. QUALIFICATIONS,
EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in
Public Health/ Social Work/ Social Sciences,from a reputed Institution/
University.
Experience:
Two to five years
experience of managing public health projects, preferably with international
NGOs/local NGOs/state governments;
Skills
and Competencies:
(1) Fluency in the local
language; Ability to read, write and speak in English and Hindi;
(2) Good documentation skills,
(3) Ability to work on computers;
(4) Excellent team player;
(5) Ability to engage and interact with officials at all levels; Also ability to understand and address concerns of different stakeholders;
(6) Willing to travel 10-12 days or more in a month, within the state.
