Position Purpose: The Communications Officer will be responsible for brand integrity and brand communication in Madhya Pradesh and ensuring that Marie Stopes India brand and messages are communicated to Social Franchisees and other stakeholders as well as offering communications advice and guidance to internal stakeholders. 
He/ she would actively support State Program team with respect to strategy and tactics, ensuring consistency of brand message by aligning with MS India’s Brand and communication policies, mandates and processes.

Job Title: Communication Officer 
Location: Bhopal
Reporting to: SPM & National Marketing & Communications Manager

This role involves 40% travel to the priority states as and when required. 

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for promoting Marie Stopes franchises, MSI clinics and the One Call helpline, actively supporting and ensuring demand generation of franchise clinics at the field level. 
• Conceptualise and conduct appropriate promotional events, ensure visibility through hoarding and other advertisement mediums, and leverage community radio and other local FM stations, and other media to train and support large networks of interpersonal communicators in our various programs.
• Work across all Districts locations that MSI franchises are present in, and develop Communication strategies appropriate to the location and the franchise based on services provided and unique characteristics of the location.
• Ensure that demand generation activities are actively supported through communication messages, and other strategic and tactical support at the State level
• Manage the continuing development of our online communications through inputs from the MSI portal and communication toolkits.
• Commission and manage local communications agencies (including design, copywriting and photography) to develop and produce marketing and internal communications materials.
• Use marketing research and analysis techniques to develop intelligence to evaluate the effectiveness of our communications work and help informed decision-making.
• Ensure that key internal communications are delivered or updated on time. 
• Develop communication tools and templates for use across the Program in order to ensure consistency, promote the brand and ensure professionalism of communications.
• Helping other team members to organise and co-ordinate external relations and training events.
• Maintaining, updating and developing MSI’s communications distribution lists.
• To undertake other assignments for other Programs as requested

Skills and Experience
Qualifications:

• MBA in Marketing & Communications or Masters in communications, journalism, media, a related field or the equivalent 

Experience:
• 3-5 Yrs. of Experience.
• Successful experience in demand generation especially for franchises 
• Developing and implementing creative communications strategies involving both traditional and new media. Conceptual ability to develop creative outreach through technology; expertise in video, podcasts, blogs, and web design and search engine optimisation is highly desirable
• Experience in strategic communications, preferably for a multi-site international organization. Previous experience in marketing/PR agencies or public-interest organizations desirable; Experience in / Exposure to Franchising , either in the Commercial Sector or the Social sector would be a big plus

• Outstanding ability to manage team members through mentoring, good performance management and support for professional development;

• Excellent verbal communication skills – including ability to present to a range of audiences.
• Self-starter who is able to proactively drive the communications agenda.
• Ability to work with people at all levels within the organisation.
