Jhpiego uses its global presence and technical leadership to develop technology-based innovations and systems for significant global health impact.

In India, Jhpiego works across nineteen states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, and pre-service nursing and midwifery education. These projects are funded by USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI), David & Lucile Packard Foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), MacArthur Foundation, Department for International Development (DFID), Merck for Mothers and others.

Jhpiego is hiring for the position of the IT Assistant based in Delhi, Patna and Bhopal to provide IT assistance to the office staff. S/he will report to the IT Officer and also work closely with the Finance & Administrative team.

Responsibilities:
• Assist supervisor to provide user level technical support for end users, computers, printers and applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Publisher, Adobe Acrobat, and other basic Computer related skills.)
• Assist end user system updates and monitoring which includes: Patch management, spyware removal and testing, virus checking, ensuring backup of data files, etc.
• Assist in procurement and implementation of new servers, technology, adding and deleting users from Active Directory, working with emails and regular maintenance.
• Assist with the creation and documentation of technical knowledge base for common issues experienced by end users.
• Interacting with IT vendors to provide best prices and support for all hardware requirements.

Abilities/Skills:
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
• Ability to troubleshoot common hardware/software issues
• Attentive to details and able to produce documents of professional quality and coordinate activities with little supervision. 
• Comfortable working in a multicultural team.
• Ability to manage/ prioritize work from several sources. 
• Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines.
• Ability to find solution in difficult situations.
• Flexibility and adaptability.
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Hindi. 
• Ability to develop productive working relationships.
• Ability to travel at least 30% of her/ his time.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 3-5 years relevant work experience in IT, preferably in an international NGO and service attitude.
• MSCE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer)
• Advanced computer competency (Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook).
• Experience in dealing with varied OEM vendors and service providers.
