Save
the Children (SC) is the world’s leading independent child rights’

since the pre-Independence days. Save the Children, India (SCI) is the 28th
independent member of the International Save the Children Movement.
Job Purpose
- To assist
Save the Children India in developing a new multi-year strategic plan on
nutrition that ensures the organization is responsive to the needs and
expectations of stakeholders in India and can build on previous success in
its contribution to the strategic aspirations.
- The
strategic plan serves to further define a road map to organization’s
mission towards nutrition security in India,
- Develop and
set in process steps to increase Save the Children India’s thematic depth,
especially at the State level,
- Develop
project concept notes on nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive
issues.
Main Responsibilities
Specific
responsibilities include but will not be limited to:
- Familiarization
with the history, vision and mission, key strategic approaches and recent
work of Save the Children India including meetings with relevant staff,
senior management, as well as review of the previous strategic plan,
current workplan activities, other relevant documents, reports and
materials.
- Preface the
strategic plan with a scan of the India environment and the legislative
framework as it exists
- A scan of
external landscape (national and global) that can impact (positively/
negatively) on Save the Children India's strategy
- Key
Stakeholders interview and consultation to get inputs for strategy design
and organize a workshop with Save the Children staff to finalize the
strategy
- Develop a
multi-year strategic plan including strategy on humanitarian crisis and
nutrition for Save the Children with key strategic objectives,
operational approaches, key sectors of engagement with risk analysis and
prioritization, milestones and high-level indicators for success;
- Resource
mobilization plan for implementing the Nutrition Strategy
- Develop and
set in process steps to increase Save the Children India’s thematic depth,
especially at the State level
- Capacity
assessment and orientation of selected state staff
- Develop
project concept notes on nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive issues
including concepts on food security, agriculture and WASH.
- Document
Save the Children nutrition interventions in India
Profile Requirements:
- A minimum
of 10 years’ national and international level experience in strategic planning,
capacity building on public health nutrition
- Proven
excellent communication, facilitation and documentation skills
- Analytical
and conceptual ability
- Ability to
work collaboratively with multiple individuals and groups
- Excellent
communication, facilitation and synthesis skills
- Excellent
organizational skills
