WU is an award-winning international social impact organisation headquartered in Berlin/Germany, with offices in Delhi/India and Nairobi/Kenya. WU exists to help achieve safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) for all people within our lifetime. To do so, WU focuses on innovative WASH campaigns to change awareness and attitudes around sanitation and hygiene at scale, play-based behaviour change interventions and the promotion of human rights to water and sanitation.

JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
In India, WU in partnership with other leading actors working on WASH, is launching a multi-year national level campaign tapping into the enormous passion for cricket to raise awareness and change attitudes and behaviours around sanitation. This large-scale, multi-channel project will engage target audiences through classical mass media, digital and social media communication, events and on the ground activities, direct consumer communication and interpersonal communication.
WU is seeking a highly motivated individual to manage the state and district level components of the initiative.  To be successful, the applicant will need to have experience working at the state, municipal and district levels on sanitation and hygiene programs with various government departments, volunteer networks and WASH non-governmental organisations. Experience in advocacy and communication is also required.
Key Responsibilities
(1) Coordinate with the various partners involved in the state, municipal and district level components of the initiative. This shall require working closely with state and district governments officers, volunteer networks and WASH non-governmental organisations;
(2) Plan and manage the project at the state, municipal and district level, including the development and distribution of campaign communication materials for various partners;
(3) Coordinate on the ground events, managing and guiding external event agencies as needed;
(4) Supervise the development of communication materials;
(5) Plan and manage the development and distribution of campaign tools for schools;
(6) Facilitate trainings with partners on the campaign on the use of communication materials and tools;
(7) Monitor and evaluate state, municipal, district and school level engagement with the campaign, as well as the impact of on the ground events.
EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications and Background
(1) PG degree in development, public health or a related field;
(2) At least six years working in the WASH sector at the state, municipal and district levels;
(3) Experience working directly with government and volunteer networks on WASH programs;
(4) Experience in advocacy and communication;
(5) Experience managing large-scale, complex project plans and budgets;
(6) Experience with WASH program monitoring and evaluation.

(2) Decision-maker with the determination to ensure project goals are met under tight deadlines;
(3) Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast paced and results driven environment;
(4) Organized and detail-oriented project manager with excellent spreadsheet capabilities;
(5) Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and adopt a proactive, positive approach;
(6) Excellent communication skills;
(7) Willingness and ability to travel.
COMPENSATION OFFERED:
The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
CONTRACTUAL EMPLOYMENT:
The WU project in India commences in August 2015 and shall be operational till the end of 2017. The successful candidate shall be offered a contract for the above period, subject to satisfactory completion of an initial probation.
