2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
ActionAid Association (AAA) is a national organization and an affiliate of ActionAid
Internationalfederation, a global movement of people working
together to further human rights and defeat poverty for all. Working in India
since 1972, AAA currently operates out of 12 Regional
Offices, spread across 25 States and one Union Territory.
A
respected non-profit, AAA is known for its activist
stance in protecting the rights of the poor and dispossessed, by building their
agencies and solidarities at local, national and international levels.
AAA supports more than 400
short and long terms projects in the following areas, positively impacting more
than 8 million poor and marginalized persons:

AAA wishes to hire an
outstanding audit professional to head it’s robust internal audit function,
reporting independently to the Executive Director.
The post-holder shall be responsible for ensuring institution and compliance
with sound management systems and regulatory processes, appropriate checks and
balances, adoption of transparent and prudent financial and general management
practices and assessment and management of programme and financial risks, of
both the organization and it’s partners.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting
to the Executive Director,
the Senior Manager – Internal Audit shall be responsible for internally
leading the internal audit function at AAA, emphasizing sound
management systems and processes, prudent financial management practices,
institution of internal controls, regulatory compliance and risk assessment and
management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
(1)
Successful and effective implementation of annual audit plans of the Internal
Audit Unit in the organization;
(2) Preparing audit annual audit schedules in consultation with regional offices/ functions and the Audit team;
(3) Taking-up periodic audits of partner organizations, Local Rights Programmes/ Direct Initiatives, as well as that of Offices/ Units/ various functions of the organization;
(4) Taking-up special audits/reviews based on the needs of the organization;
(5) Submitting timely and quality audit reports to the management, ensuring follow-up and compliance, to minimize possible risks to the partners and to AAA;
(6) Carrying out risk assessment, analysing the same and preparing periodic Audit Risk Matrix, for management review and decisions;
(7) Providing support for the effective functioning of the Management/ Governance Audit Committee of the organization, helping operationalise decisions of the Audit Committee;
(8) Supporting processes relating to internal and external audits, assisting in the submission of management responses;
(9) Managing a team of internal auditors, as well as liaising with the group of empanelled external auditors, to meet the audit schedules and compliances;
(10) As a member of the Senior Management Team, represent the Audit function in Senior Management Team meetings, Finance and Audit Committee of the Governing Board and other such forums/ bodies and contribute to the decision-making processes of the organization.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications:
Applicants must be post graduates in Commerce/ ICWA/ MBA- Finance.

Chartered Accountants would be at an advantage.
Experience:
Minimum seven to nine years of relevant experience, including prior exposure to leading a team of internal auditors.

an advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Sound knowledge of statutes such as Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA), Income Tax, Professional Tax, Labour Laws, etc., and their applicability, particularly to the development sector/ NGOs/ INGOs;
(2) Thorough knowledge of principles, procedures and practices of accounting and maintenance of financial records and transactions;
(3) Strong commitment to develop, promote and practice AAA’s vision, mission, values, and strategies;
(4) A good team player, gender sensitive and having strong commitment to the empowerment of the poor and disadvantaged groups and women;
(5) Strong communication skills, result orientation, ability to manage a team and ability to suggest solutions to complex problems;
(6) Excellent report writing and documentation skills;
(7) Willing and able to travel extensively;
(8) Proficiency in all applications of MS Office, especially Word and Excel.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
AAA is a progressive paymaster
and endeavors to position itself at par with leading international non-profits
working in India. AAA will offer Rs. 9.6 lacs per annum, on a cost to organization
basis.
(Note: The amount
includes PF contribution. In addition, there is Group Medical Insurance, with
coverage of the post holder and dependents. Personal Accident Insurance and
gratuity is payable as per law and norms of the organization.)
6. LOCATION: New Delhi
7. TENURE & CATEGORY OF EMPLOYMENT: The successful candidate shall
be offered a fixed term, three year contract. Further extension, if any, will
be on the basis of the incumbent’s performance, fund availability and
organizational requirement.
