Program and Operations Manager - Action for India

Position Summary

Action For India, an NGO based out of Bangalore, India, is seeking a Manager for Programs and Operations. The Manager will work closely with senior management in executing AFI’s programs for its community of social entrepreneurs. The role will involve relationship building with stakeholders in the social enterprise ecosystem, program design, management and execution as well as providing input and direction to AFI’s strategic growth.

The position will offer an excellent opportunity to work closely with several leading social enterprises within the AFI network, to help scale and grow their businesses. In addition, you will have access to a wide network of business leaders, technologists, and industrialists who are part of the AFI Advisory and Board networks.

Responsibilities 

Project Management & Coordination:

• Work with the AFI management to define project goals and objectives. Projects would consist of social business start up activities in rural India.
• Undertake project management activities including: project planning, implementation, and follow-up.
• Coordinate with Program Funding Agencies and Social Enterprises
• Relationship building:
• Develop AFI’s relationship with existing stakeholders, particularly with social enterprises in the AFI Network.
• Champion the cause of who Social Enterprises that have signed up with AFI and work tirelessly towards helping them achieve their objectives.

Required skills and experience 

The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 5 years of experience in social enterprises, NGO program management, or consulting, with a passion for working with an organization that helps improve social conditions in India.

This position will require a dynamic, and flexible personality that can work in a fast-changing environment. You must have:

• A Master’s degree in Management, Social Sciences, Public Policy, International Studies, Economics, Political science or a related field
• Project management experience, preferably in the social/NGO sector
• Good command of written English, with the ability to write clearly and succinctly in various styles
• The ability to build and maintain relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• A passion for social development and willingness to travel across the country
• Good computer skills

This is a full-time positions that is available immediately. The position will be based in New Delhi, India, and will require you to travel within India from time to time.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
