2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

IDEI’s efforts have resulted in the reduction of more than 2 million tonnes of carbon emission, 600 million litres of diesel, 800 million kwh of electricity and 6 billion cubic meters of water, in agriculture. In addition, due to IDEI’s unique market based approach, more than 650 million-person days of employment have also been generated.
IDEI has been adjudged the “front runner” in the world for low cost irrigation solutions and recognized by the Skoll Foundation, Templeton Foundation & Schwab Foundation, for outstanding contribution in the field of “social entrepreneurship”. 3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Director: IDEI, the Consultant- Madhya Pradesh Rural Livelihood Programme Coordination shall be responsible for promoting sustainable agricultural practices and products through engagement with the small and marginal farmers. S/he shall additionally be managing and driving the mid to large sized programme for achieving targets.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
(1) Manage and supervise a team of 25- 30 personnel for achieving a programme objectives;
(2) Manage medium to large sized programmes at the state level;
(3) Drive and manage the day to day operations of programme and achieving targets ensuring the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices and products;
(4) Provide guidance to team for engaging and managing sustainable relationship with the small and marginal farmers;
(5) Regularly monitor programme progress and track budget utilization for the overall programme which includes conducting regular field visits;
(6) Help in developing village level entrepreneurs;
(7) Support in achieving an outreach of over 8-10,000 farmers per year;
(8) Support in managing customer level information systems;
(9) Ensure timely submission of annual work plan, fund requests and progress reports;
(10) Assist in the conduct of the annual programme audit;
(11) Assist in arranging and coordinating meetings of the Project and provide support in the preparation of agenda papers, reports and meeting minutes.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification:
Applicants must be Graduate/Post Graduate in Agriculture/Agri Business Management.
Experience:
(1) Two- three years’ experience in Rural Marketing (Agri-input- seeds (not from fertilizer, pesticides/pharma background) / Farm equipment;
(2) Prior experience and thorough understanding of the rural markets;
(3) Candidates with familiarity to working in rural background of Madhya Pradesh shall be preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Excellent communication skills;
(2) Thorough understanding of the rural markets in the area;
(3) Proven team management and branch administrations skills;
(4) Track record of achieving targets;
(5) Willing to undertake extensive travel (approximately 20 days a month) and work under pressure.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive and ranges from Rs. 6 to 6.5 lacs per annum. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
