3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Cardiovascular Health Officer (CVHO), Vital Strategies, the Cardiovascular Health Senior Treatment Supervisors (CH-STSs) shall be placed at the state and/or district level, to perform duties listed below.
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Take a lead role in ensuring timely reporting from district and sub-district levels on hypertension control program (and co-morbidities, especially diabetes) and ensure data quality;
(2) Provide intensive training and technical support to health care workers and other stakeholders in timely, accurate and complete documentation of patient blood pressure and status, as well as on aggregate reporting of hypertension data using a standardized recording and reporting system;
(3) Provide intensive training to health care workers and others or assist the CVHO in their training;
(4) Provide ongoing supervision of hypertension treatment at all facilities in the jurisdictions;
(5) Assist the CVHO with preparation and conduct of technical visits to facilities at the district, sub-district and institution level to develop capacity of program staff to assess and improve the quality of service delivery based on their data and also to document good practices;
(6) Assist the CVHO with validation of reported clinical data through triangulation of records and reports with other data sources, such as public health surveillance data;
(7) Conduct regular analysis of surveillance and epidemiological data and share findings with supervisor to facilitate appropriate follow up;
(8) Help monitor drug availability and timeliness of drug delivery to health facilities;
(9) Assist the CVHO with preparation of presentations, reports and strategic documents required for decision making and implementing at district and in the state;
(10) Assist the CVHO with preparation of regular reports to the hiring agency on adherence to clinical treatment protocols and performance on hypertension control based on clinical data and public health surveillance measures;
(11) Undertake other technical assistance activities as deemed appropriate and necessary by the CVHO, in conjunction with the hiring agency;
(12) The selected candidate is expected to work in unison with the other co-workers and with government counterparts.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification and Experience:
(1) Applicants must have a Bachelors degree. Qualifications or significant experience in public health, health care administration, medicine, or data science shall be an advantage, however, candidates with other qualifications shall also be considered;
(2) Possession of valid driver’s license for a two-wheeler, is desirable;
(3) Minimum two years experience of implementing public health projects/ programmes in association with the government;
(4) Candidates with prior experience of having worked in the area of cardiovascular health, in addition to experience of program implementation shall be at an advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Applicants with proven analytical skills shall be preferred;
(2) Candidates must have good computer skills, especially in Excel. (Applicants are likely to be tested in Excel and MS Office, to confirm their suitability);
(3) At least two-years’ experience of driving a two-wheeler;
(4) Candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English;
(5) In the case of applicants for the post of CH-STS in Punjab, fluency in spoken Punjabi, alongwith fair reading and writing skills shall be preferred;
(6) In the case of applicants for the post of CH-STS in Kerala, fluency in spoken Malayalam, alongwith fair reading and writing skills shall be preferred;
(7) Willingness and ability to travel (upto about 15 days in a month) travel within the assigned district to health facilities at different levels, is essential.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation budgeted for the position is Rs. 3.3 lacs per annum. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
6. TENURE:
The successful candidates shall be issued an initial contract for a period of one year, extended annually based on performance.
