2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

The Swedish Organization for Individual Relief (SOIR-IM) is an Indian NGO working in the fields of education and economic empowerment for marginalized groups, such as, rural women, tribals, migrant labourers, Tibetan refugees, children with disabilities, etc.

SOIR-IM has been working in India since the 1970s, through supporting NGO partners. SOIR-IM presently works with eight partner organizations across the country. The majority of funding comes from the Government of Sweden, through a donor organization in Sweden. SOIR-IM office currently employs 19 staff.
