3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Manager and Senior
Manager, the Development Officer shall primarily be
responsible for mobilizing funds for implementing the organization’s different
projects across the country.
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Resource mobilization:
(a) Assessing different opportunities for
resource mobilization, including the identification and mapping of current and
potential donors;
(b) Identifying potential partners, at both the state and national levels and fostering new partnerships;
(c) Developing and maintaining existing partner relationships (both government and non-government) in different states;
(d) Ensuring the development of positive business relations for the organization;
(e) Strategizing innovative and engaging fundraising events

(2) Conceptualizing, designing, developing and
implementing various campaigns and proposals for different partner
organizations;
(3) Developing proposals as per the needs of different clients;
(4) Responding to the needs of existing and new partners on a timely basis through documents and reports, strategic relationship building exercises, etc.;
(5) Networking and liaising with potential partners, both government and non-government;
(6) Supporting the programme team in the implementation of campaigns/projects or other programmes;
(7) Representing the organization at different forums;
(8) Any other task as assigned by management.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification:
Applicant must possess an MBA and/or Post Graduate Diploma/ Degree in Rural Management/Rural Marketing, MSW, or equivalent.
Experience:
(1) A minimum of eight years experience in resource mobilization/ fundraising and rural marketing;
(2) Experience/ knowledge of ‘concept selling’ is essential;
(3) Prior exposure to the non-profit sector is essential;
(4) In-depth understanding of development issues in the areas of Health, Education, Gender Equality and Environment is essential;
(5) Prior exposure to strategizing social interventions, organization building, human resource development and financial management, is desirable;
(6) Proficiency in writing proposals, filing RFPs and EOIs and developing concept notes.
Skills:
(1) Strong presentation skills;
(2) Excellent verbal and written skills in English and Hindi;
(3) Strong interpersonal skills, with customer focus and responsiveness;
(4) Creative and organized with a ‘go-getter’ attitude;
(5) Proficiency in using computers, including standard MS Office applications;
(6) Willingness to travel extensively in India, including rural areas.

Gross compensation for the position shall be
