Background
UN Women’s Multi Country Office for Bhutan, India, Maldives and Sri Lanka works towards promoting women’s role in peace building. The four South Asian countries are affected by various types of conflicts which impact differently on women, girls, boys and men. In keeping with this understanding there is a need to design programmes which are not only conflict and gender sensitive but which also address women’s various roles in peace building through targeted interventions. Therefore, under the guidance and direct supervision of the Deputy Representative, UN WOMEN MCO the Programme Analyst for Women, Peace & Security will lead UN Women’s work in Bhutan, India, Maldives and Sri Lanka on issues related to gender and peace building. The Programme Analyst will also work on gender responsive migration.
