Function:
The Resource
Mobilization Officer-East Africa (RMO/EA) plays a central role in his/her
region in defining resource mobilization strategies, identifying markets,
building relationships, strategically positioning Heifer with potential funders
and partners, strengthening Country Office capacity for resource mobilization,
and responding to funding opportunities. As a member of the Institutional
Business Development (IBD) team the RMO/EA works under the supervision of the
IBD East Africa Regional Manager, however s/he also collaborates with the
Foundation Relations and Global Partnerships and Alliances teams to identify
and respond to specific foundation and corporate funding opportunities. The
RMO/EA is expected to be aware of the funding environment throughout East
Africa, and participate in opportunity response as directed by the IBD EA
Regional Manager. Annual acquisition targets for East Africa will be
collaboratively developed, contributing to the overall IBD and Heifer
fundraising goal, and informing the RMO/EA’s work plan.
