The state of Madhya Pradesh has been making concrete and streamlined efforts to increase contraceptive prevalence to achieve the TFR of 2.1. DLHS-3 (2007-08) data show that current use of any modern family planning method is 53.1% out of which female sterilization is 45.1% and male sterilization accounts for 0.8% only.

Project Summary
FHI360 works to bring about positive changes in the actions of individuals, communities and institutions that improve the health and well-being of vulnerable populations across the world. Through bilateral funding from USAID/India, FHI360’s BCC-IHBP Task Order focuses on institutional strengthening for Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) at national and state levels. The project uses evidence-based approaches to design SBCC strategies for HIV/AIDS, TB, MCH and FP/RH that reach to the community level and focus on individual and social change. Through advocacy and other community interventions, vulnerable communities will be empowered to address a variety of health issues, overcoming barriers such as stigma and gender-based discrimination.
