About the role
Reporting to the India Director and with functional relationship with India team and International communications directorate, the objective of this position is to support the TCG India office to deliver its communication plan to enhance organizational visibility, identity and branding leading to enhanced recognition and funding opportunities in India and abroad. The position will particularly focus on supporting the Netherlands Postcode Lottery funded Bijli – Clean Energy for All program in India by delivering communication objective and organizing various local and national events in India. This is a full time role, initially on a fixed term of 1 year.

The Poorest Areas Civil Society Programme (PACS) is an initiative of the UK Government’s Department for International Development, to work with civil society in India, to help socially excluded groups claim their rights and entitlements more effectively. PACS covers 90 districts in seven states: Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
The seven year programme (2009-2016) supports civil society organisations promoting inclusive policies, programmes and institutions at local, district and state levels. PACS targets socially excluded groups: scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, Muslims, women and people with disability. For more details please visit www.pacsindia.org.
PACS is looking for an exceptional individual to manage its communications for the programme. The role holder will manage a Communications Manager and Web Content Manager, along with any external agencies and consultants.
Role purpose and decision making domains
The post holder is expected to lead and deliver effective communications aligned to the objectives of the PACS programme. The role will develop and deliver strategic communications initiatives and campaigns that champion inclusion and challenge discrimination. The incumbent will play a key role in identifying and engaging with stakeholders from civil society, media, government and academia.
The role will oversee support for partners to strengthen their communications capacity, and ensure that lessons learnt from the PACS programme are shared widely. It also manages a team and any external agencies or consultants to deliver ambitious and creative communications and other related initiatives.
