WORK CONTEXT / BACKGROUND:

World Vision India is one of the PR’s of the NFM (Global Fund Grant). The project will be implemented in low-performing TUs of 70 districts/100 cities across 8 states of India in partnership with 6 NGO-partners. WV India is responsible to provide overall leadership to the project, build capacities of the partners, monitor the operational and financial components of the project and represent the project at national and international forum. The PMU of WV India hires 4 State Consultants to help the Project Director to take key technical and operational decisions related to the project in the respective states.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

  1. Coordinate with the PMU of the project and under the supervision of PD for advocacy and documentation.
  2. Provide technical assistance to the project in formulating strategy and developing materials and tools for TB advocacy.
  3. Build capacities of the SR-partners on advocacy and documentation.
  4. Make regular field-visits to explore advocacy issues, case-studies, success-stories and document them with photographs and relevant data & evidences and bring to the notice of SR-partners, State Consultants and PMU members and guide them how to utilize them for state and district level advocacy.

Background
UNDP Bangladesh is leading realignment process to align its current structure ensuring CO relevance and impact in the next 3-5 years and taking into account wider changing circumstances in Bangladesh. The changing nature of engagement with donors and partners require that UNDP continuously demonstrates its value added. In this context, UNDP is working on its strategic positioning in Bangladesh and how it organizes itself to be “fit for purpose” and able to support the alleviation of poverty and reduction of inequality and vulnerability in a relevant, efficient and effective manner.
In aligning the organizational resources behind its strategy, the proposed Country Office functional structure has been designed accordingly. The Programme Team is designed as three major portfolios to ensure a well-focused programme, which is directly aligned to the UNDP Strategic Plan and the emerging priorities of Bangladesh’s 7th 5-Year National Development Plan. The Governance portfolio will encompass UNDP’s dynamic governance programme activities, which includes Justice and Human Rights, Elections and Parliamentary Affairs, and a portfolio evolving from public administration reform to emerging governance innovations fostering citizen empowerment and social cohesion. The local governance programming activities will be consolidated within the Governance portfolio.
