Wealth Creation Project Coordinator - Heifer International (Apply by: February 29, 2016)

Job Description

Purpose/Function: 

The main purpose of the Wealth Creation Project Coordinator is to coordinate the implementation of the Wealth Creation project whose overall goal is to increase income and employment for smallholder farmers in Western Kenya. The role is responsible for the delivery of the project targeting working with 36 community groups in Homabay, Migori and Rachuonyo and 3 producer marketing hubs in Nambale, Khwisero and Ringo for a total of 8,250 households and 49,500 people. The project is implemented in partnership with Send a Cow who are the main implementing partner and the role involves a field coordination element with the partner that includes joint planning, review, implementation and reporting. The Project Coordinator coordinates the work of the for the project staff in the Homabay field office and the business team in the SAC-K Kakamega field office including coordinating all their inputs into the successful mobilization, training and capacity building of the target project beneficiaries. The Coordinator will liaise closely with the relevant government departments and extension personnel to coordinate extension support for the hubs and the community groups and also support the stimulation of private sector awareness and business linkages. The Coordinator undertake the coordination of the key project inputs including the procurement and delivery of livestock and other key project assets and subsequently monitoring the implementation of the passing on the gift process amongst the beneficiary groups. The Coordinator will also undertake field Monitoring and Evaluation activities including baseline data collection, regular monthly and quarterly project reporting and the final project evaluation.

Finance Director - ChildFund International (Apply by: January 02, 2016)


Reporting to the National Director, the Finance Director is responsible for ensuring the integrity of National Office financial management systems including accounting policies and procedures, financial reporting, budget formulation and monitoring and financial analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures financial stewardship and accountability at all levels of financial operations. Ensures the integrity of financial management systems within the National Office. Ensures that proper internal controls exist and are followed for all financial activities of the National office
Ensures Program is in compliance with internal control policies related to the financial and administrative components, according to IO procedures and donor requirements
Ensures that accounting manuals are updated and revised periodically
Oversees the financial software system and directs the appropriate monthly accounting closing procedures. Ensures appropriate communication on financial matters with the Regional/International Offices, affiliates, local partners and relevant Government authorities
Ensures timely and quality information for all financial reporting requirements (e.g. IO, grants and donors)
Ensures timely preparation & disbursement of staff salaries, allowances and regulatory requirements (e.g. taxes, pensions)

ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
Reporting to the Human Resource and Administration Director, the Administration Officer is responsible for providing administrative coordination for the national office to include, office services, internal communications, transport management and asset management
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Facility administration including property/lease agreement management, ground maintenance, office space allocation and bills payment administration
  • Develop and maintain NO records management and retention procedures
  • Manage all administrative service contracts and building repairs and maintenance
  • Maintain and update a comprehensive inventory of ChildFund’s assets
  • Oversee the disposal of inventory items according to ChildFund’s policy and procedures
  • Oversee transport and ensure repair, maintenance and insurance of ChildFund’s vehicles

Safety and Security Officer - ChildFund International (Apply by: December 31, 2015)

Reporting to the National Director, the Safety and Security Officer is responsible for coordination of safety and security elements in liaison with management and security service providers.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish operational plans for security management of the NO; analyze safety and security needs of the organization to recommend appropriate safety and security measures.
  • Ensure that all safety and security installations are in line with the standards of ChildFund’s safety and security standards, SOPs and contingency plans
  • Conduct threat assessments and risk analysis for the National Office and program sites and makes recommendations responding to mitigated measures
