Information Technology Officer, Bharat Rural Livelihood Foundation
1. POSITION VACANT:  Information Technology Officer, Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (ITA-BRLF), New Delhi

2. ORGANISATION BACKGROUND:

Government of India (GOI) has initiated Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (BRLF) as an independent organization under the Societies Registration Act to facilitate civil society action in partnership with State and Central Government, for transforming livelihoods and lives of rural households, with an emphasis on women, particularly in the Central Indian Tribal Region.

BRLF is a unique and first-of-its-kind initiative and the Foundation is constituted as a partnership between Government on the one hand and the private sector philanthropies, public and private sector undertakings (under Corporate Social Responsibility) on the other.

Major functions of BRLF will be to provide financial grants to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to meet their human resource and institutional costs for up-scaling of proven interventions, invest in institutional strengthening of smaller CSOs and capacity building of professional human resources working at the grassroots. Alongside, BRLF will continuously facilitate projects receiving its grant support through all levels of Government to ensure smooth flow and utilization of Government funds to rural communities and poor households under the mega Centrally Sponsored Schemes for promoting livelihoods of the poor.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Resource Mobilization and Communications Manager (RMCM), BRLF, the Information Technology Officer (ITO) will be a part of the communications team, supporting BRLF communications, website, etc. S/he will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day running of the office network and stand alone systems in BRLF office.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Technical Support:
(1) Installing and configuring desktops and laptop computers;
(2) Installing and configuring network devices;
(3) Ensuring regular maintenance of all hardwares;
(4) Managing software installations;
(5) Ensuring data backups for all team members;
(6) Maintaining shared folders on server;
(7) Providing frontline helpdesk support to users;
(8) Maintaining network security;
(9) Ensuring that the AMCs are executed for all office equipments like printers, photocopiers, PCs, etc, including ensuring their maintenance;
(10) Supporting RMDC Officer in website management and data uploading;
(11) Maintenance of power backup system/ inverters.

B. Procurement Support:
Responsible for providing technical specifications for various office equipments to the finance team

C. Team Participation:
(1) Participating in discussions and sharing learnings from the work of the organization as a team member;
(2) Tracking and keeping well-informed about programme activities, information and statistics of the organization. 

5. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification
: 
Degree/ Certificate Course in Information Technology.

Experience:
Minimum five years of relevant experience in the field of Information Technology.

Skills and Competencies:
(1) Working knowledge of the following:
(a) Microsoft Windows Server, Professional and XP
(b) Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 (or more recent versions)
(c) Microsoft Office 2007/2010/XP Professional, etc.
(d) Troubleshooting network devices
(e) Network security
(f) LAN
(2) Experience/ understanding of the development sector is desirable;
(3) Prior experience of website management is essential;
(4) Strong proficiency in the use of MS Office;
(5) Strong team player, with the ability to work in a collaborative and consultative manner.

6. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

The offered compensation for this position is attractive and competitive to market rates. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.

7. APPOINTMENT: This is a full-time position and the initial contract will be offered for a period of three years, renewable, based on performance.

8. LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
The position requires fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Hindi.

9. LOCATION: The position will be based at New Delhi.
