The Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Madras is a 120 year old organisation working for the empowerment of women in Chennai and its suburbs. Rooted in the Christian faith, the organisation responds to the needs of women and girl children facing deprivation and difficult socio-economic situations with appropriate development, welfare, shelter and advocacy projects. We are looking for a dynamic woman candidate for the position of Projects Coordinator to manage and ensure the smooth running of the development and welfare projects of the Association. 

The Projects Coordinator is a senior managerial position in the organisation and must ensure the quantitative and qualitative results of the projects. She will focus on developing and maintaining systems, mechanisms and procedures to ensure effective administration of the Projects and support the project teams with technical and professional skills to deliver on time bound results. The role requires maintaining good external relationships with NGOs, networks and likeminded institutions and individuals on issues and interests pertaining to women and children. Internally the Projects Coordinator will work closely with the project heads and report to the Executive General Secretary of the association. She must also work closely with the project committees and give feedback and timely information on proposals, reports and other related works. She is responsible to ensure that all compliances with government bodies and donor agencies are on track so that the projects continue to be prompt and timely in their commitments to supporters and partners.

Gender Resource Centres- Suvidha Kendras (GRC-SKs) serve as first point of contact for the community. These structures have been set up by the government in partnership with the civil society organizations (CSOs) to reach out to people and take government programmes to communities

Mission Convergence has engaged ChildFund India as Mother NGOs (MNGOs) to facilitate, guide and supervise the Field NGOs (FNGOs) functioning of GRC-SKs. ChildFund India is responsible for 37 GRC-SKs and 5 Extension Centers located in South, South-West and Central Delhi.
