PURPOSE OF THE POST
Under the supervision and guidance of the supervisor, the programme assistant supports the respective section through providing a range of procedural, administrative, and operational support in developing, implementing, executing and monitoring their country programme, ensuring effective and timely delivery that is consistent with UNICEF rules and regulations.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Support to programme development, planning and execution.
• Researches, analyses, verifies, synthesizes and compiles qualitative and quantitative data and information from a variety of sources on subject matters relevant to the work of the section to facilitate preparation of reports, working papers, and presentations.

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
Railway Children (RC) is an international non-profit organization, working since 1995 in United Kingdom, India and East Africa, to create ‘a world where no child ever has to live on the streets’. 

In India, RC works through partnerships with NGOs, as well as directly with the government, in addressing issues of children at and around, major railway stations. These children leave their families and suffer poverty, violence, abuse and neglect. They find themselves living alone, because there is nowhere else to go and nobody to turn to.
While working in India RC provides support through:
(1) Early interventions at and around the railway station;
(2) Protecting and ensuring community/ family care of vulnerable children;
(3) Activating government child protection mechanisms.

Reports to: National Direct Dialogue Manager
Location: Mumbai

Purpose of job:


Direct Dialogue(DD) – refers to Greenpeace’s street fundraising model where staff stand on streets and approach members of the public to explain Greenpeace campaigns & victories and seek donations from them. These can be regular monthly donations as well as one-time donations.

Manage direct dialogue operations in the assigned city.

Main duties:

• Support the line manager in developing the plans and budgets for the assigned city
• Implement direct dialogue fundraising plans & objectives and meet targets set for the different fundraising avenues, i.e. street fundraising, outreach, educational institutions, one-time donations etc.
• Conceptualize events & identify opportunities for various FR avenues. Develop a calendar of FR activities for your city
• Monitor and regularly report back on FR results, allocated expense budget and agreed KPIs
• Regularly monitor the external environment, developments on the field, and report back to the line manager

2. ORGANISATION BACKGROUND: The Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) was established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) as the primary support structure to facilitate poverty reduction through social mobilization and improvement of livelihoods of the rural poor in Andhra Pradesh. SERP works on a comprehensive multi-dimensional poverty alleviation strategy by focusing equally on Livelihoods and Human Development. The fundamental unit of development at SERP is the rural poor households and all interventions of SERP strive to achieve essentially two outcomes- sustainable per capita household incomes of Rs. 100,000/- per annum from multiple livelihoods sources and improved Human Development Indicators. Operating on the fundamental premise that empowerment and participation are the crux of development, SERP works through community-based organizations to address poverty eradication.
