Position Summary

The Program Assistant will provide administrative and general programmatic support to the Project Director and the program team based in Ranchi to help the Capacity Plus HRIS project achieve its purpose. The Program Assistant is expected to model the values of integrity, genuineness, a commitment to excellence and respect. 

Key Responsibilities
The Program Support Officer will work as a part of the USAID-funded CapacityPlus project team in Jharkhand and will carry out the following tasks:

Responsibilities related to Technical Team
• Assist in providing all needed logistical support in organizing meetings, workshops, conferences, and events (venues, supplies, invitations, catering, follow up calls)
• Respond to inquiries about the project work, via correspondence, email or phone
• Assist in drafting letters, dispatching letters and other documents 
• Assist in preparing and updating PowerPoint presentations and other documents
• Maintain organized files and records of technical team activities, both electronic and hard copy
• Maintain the technical sections of the project’s internal web site (SharePoint site)
• Maintain contacts and databases of technical experts, Nutrition Coalition members and associated groups and others as needed by the technical team 
• Work with Knowledge Management sub-team on document dissemination, information fairs, maintaining photo files, and other knowledge management activities 
• Support data quality review and undertake periodic data quality monitoring in selected districts
• Provide other general technical support as needed

Responsibilities related to Operations Team
• Maintain Petty Cash balance and expenditure record 
• Prepare vouchers for Petty Cash transactions
• Support the team in procurement of goods/services by assisting in preparation of summary bid analysis
• Prepare Travel Expenditure reports (TER) for staff
• Make travel bookings, transport arrangements and accommodation arrangements
• Ensure proper Housekeeping
• Manage and keep a track of the office consumables and supplies
• Maintain inventory records for the office
• Work with vendors for obtaining regular services and payment transactions 
• Maintain contacts and databases of vendors and consultants
• Perform other administrative and coordination tasks as needed
• Manage the Front Office as and when required
• Work collaboratively with other members of the operations team

Qualifications and Capacities

Qualifications and Competencies:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum of two years administrative experience, preferably with the health or development sector 
• Must have excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, use of Internet)
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi

  1. Overall Purpose/Broad Function:
            Facilitate, planning , capacity building, service delivery, reporting and monitoring of the Zinc      Scale up project in the divisions

  1. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
 
1.    Undertake situational analysis of all districts in the jurisdiction of division placed.
2.    Ensure and build capacity for long-term, effective supply chain management for Zn/ORS
3.    Ensure effective training and capacity building of all health workers/functionaries and ICDS
personnel if included
4.    Ensure flow of high-quality monitoring data on regular basis
5.    Maintain productive relations with partners and govt. in order to ensure prioritization and
sustainability of ORS/zinc treatment delivery
6.    Ensure effective review and planning of programme by the Govt. functionaries
7.    Serve as subject matter expert  on diarrhoea and its management, including ORS and Zn
8.    Ensure effective implementation of the communications strategy adopted at the state-level
 
4.Supervisory Responsibilities:

  1. Education/Professional Designations/Experience:
            Masters degree ( social work / management/Public health/ health administration/
epidemiology/ statistics)
           3-5 years of work experience of which a minimum of one year at grassroots level work

Undertake extensive travel up to 15 days a month in the field area

Job Summary:
 
The Integrated Family Health Initiative (IFHI) program is a five-year project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation that aims to increase use and coverage of maternal, newborn, child, and women’s health and nutrition interventions within the state of Bihar. The program aims to assist the state substantially reduce maternal, neonatal, and child mortality contributing to an accelerated progress towards achieving MDG 4 and 5 targets, working in partnership with governments, civil society organizations, and communities at large. A consortium of organizations, led by CARE, India supports the implementation of this program, with the Saving Newborn Lives (SNL) program of Save the Children (SC) India serving as the technical partner agency for the Newborn Care component.  The Project Manager – Newborn Sepsis, a SC staff based in Patna, Bihar, works with and reports to the Technical Director – IFHI, with daily coordination with the Manager – Newborn Health, and frequent collaboration with the SNL India and Washington, DC teams.
 
The Project Manager - Newborn Sepsis will play a critical role in implementing technical interventions in the management of newborn sepsis. Based in Patna, the position will be responsible for overall leadership of the neonatal sepsis management project. S/he will be working closely with the Quality Improvement team and the M&E team to analyze and understanding data obtained from the field and ensure use of data for improving the quality of implementation of the newborn health services. S/he will also oversee training and implementation activities to ensure the intervention is carried out as designed. Thus, in close collaboration with the Manager – Newborn Health, ensuring learning from the field is incorporated and developed into technically sound and responsive interventions.
 
S/he will be required to visit the implementation district routinely. This position will report to the Technical Director – IFHI, and will communicate with the Manager - Newborn Health on a regular basis and with SC-India and SNL teams biweekly. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities will include:
• Strategic planning;
• Detailed implementation and management planning;
• Establishing solid working relationships with the government, IFHI, and other partners Working in the district as well as with the state level GOB and IFHI authorities;
• Obtain approval on the standards/protocols, operational guidelines, and training and BCC packages;
• Workplan development and implementation;
• Personnel and financial management;
• Program monitoring and evaluation, documentation, and dissemination;
• Developing a sustainable exit strategy. 
S/he will ensure the effective use of resources in compliance with IFHI regulations and policies. This position will be required to communicate regularly with the IFHI Technical Team and SNL HO and India staff.

Qualification & Experience:
Required:• Master’s in Public Health or similar medical degree
• Extensive technical experience in designing and implementing newborn health interventions in Bihar or in similar settings
• Experience in program planning and management, monitoring and evaluation, quantitative and qualitative research methods and analysis
• Understanding of health systems and working in partnerships
• Extensive knowledge of newborn health as well as the global thinking on evidence based interventions
• Ability to manage complex health programs

Preferred:• Research experience in MNCH
• Medical or nursing training

Summary of Responsibilities: 

The Communications Associate will be responsible for producing documents and publications across Alliance India’s programmes in order to disseminate lessons learned; to promote best practise and broaden the response to HIV programming. Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure effective documentation of programme activities, in order to disseminate lessons learned and best practise and raise awareness of Alliance India’s activities.

Various Positions - SHARE India

SHARE India is a not for profit society registered in 1986 under the AP Public Societies Registration Act. Presently, SHARE is implementing a project that provides technical assistance to Department of AIDS Control (DAC) for human capacity development.  The project is funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). 

About the project:
The DAC has established District AIDS Prevention and Control Units (DAPCUs) in 189 high priority districts during NACP-3 to provide programmatic oversight. SHARE is currently engaged in providing technical assistance for strengthening DAPCUs in collaboration with DAC and State AIDS Control Societies (SACS). The support is managed by DAPCU National Resource Team (DNRT) comprises of Senior Program Managers, DAPCU Coordinators, Regional Coordinators and M&E Officers.
SHARE invites highly motivated professionals for various positions as shown below:

1.                  Senior Program Manager (SPM): (1 position) - Hyderabad
The SPM will be leading a team of 4-5 Regional Coordinators and one M&E Officer and reports to the Project Director (PD); will be responsible for program planning and implementation; coordinate with the DAPCU Coordinator at DAC, DAPCU Nodal Officers (DNO), and Project Director in SACS, and with DAC officials, as necessary. The broad responsibilities of the position are:
        i.            Lead the team and provide technical and programmatic guidance for their optimal performance.
      ii.            Guide the SHARE team and support the DNOs/SACSs to enhance DAPCUs capacity to facilitate effective and quality delivery of services.
    iii.            Enhance the capacity of SHARE, SACS and DAPCU staff for managing DAPCU functions.
    iv.            Provide oversight for effective planning, implementation and monitoring of program activities and work for need-based mid-course corrections.
      v.            Engage in in project activities documentation and support the PD in preparation of periodical reports for Government and donor.
Qualifications required:
·         MBBS or Masters in Public Health or Social Sciences
·         3 to 5 years’ experience in public health programs, preferably in HIV/AIDS in progressive responsibilities.
·         Good team player with proven record of managing teams
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·         Experience in working with the government system at state or national level
·         Good negotiation and problem solving skills
·         Experience in capacity building and institutional strengthening



2.                  DAPCU Coordinator (1 position): Delhi

The DAPCU Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the DNRT in effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of the DAPCU strengthening activities. The Position will coordinate with different divisions of DAC and SACS to ensure the needed administrative and management support is provided to DNRT. The broad job responsibilities are:

        i.            Work with the DNRT and provide inputs for program planning, implementation and management of the project activities efficiently.
      ii.            Appraise and coordinate with the senior leadership and other officers of DAC for managing DAPCU strengthening activities
    iii.          Providing program oversight of the  states and DAPCUs assigned
    iv.            Co-ordinate with the other members of the DNRT, engage SACS and DAC point of contacts for better management of the activities and resolving bottlenecks
      v.            Serve as a link between SHARE and DAC for DAPCU related activities for better coordination.
    vi.            Advocate with DAC on DAPCU activities by actively engaging in various meetings.
Qualifications required:
·         MBBS or Masters in Social Sciences or Public Health
·         3 to 5 years’ experience in public health, preferably in HIV/AIDS
·         Experience in working with Government and multi-sector environment at state or national level
·         Team player with  excellent  skills in coordinating with expanded teams  
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and a regional language
·         Good negotiation and problem solving skills

3.                  Regional Coordinator (6 positions) – Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati Hyderabad,  Lucknow and Mumbai
The Regional Coordinator (RC) will function under the direct supervision of the Senior Program Manager. The broad job responsibilities of the position are:
i.     Coordinate with the DNO and other component officers in SACS for context-specific program planning, and implementation and monitoring of the activities
ii.      Enhance DNO’s capacity for effective management of DAPCU portfolio
iii.    Facilitate for DAPCUs capacity development
iv.    Support SACS in establishing responsive systems for DAPCUs monitoring and provide oversight
v.      Promote innovations, document and submit various program documents and reports
vi.    Advocate with the district and state leadership for mainstreaming HIV activities
vii.  Support in implementing or managing any activities as advised by DAC or SACS

Preference will be given to regional candidates in the states, where vacancies are announced.
Qualifications required:
·         Masters in Social Sciences or public health or medical graduates
·         3-5 years’ experience working with public health programs at  state level
·         Strong  in capacity building and systems strengthening
·         Proven skills in program monitoring, data analysis and interpretation
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and the regional language
·         Good  government coordination and representation
·         Strong in negotiation and problem solving skills

4.                  Documentation Officer : (1 position) - Hyderabad

The Program Manager, Documentation will be reporting to the Senior Program Manager.  The position will be responsible for preparing good quality project documents, editing various field reports, preparing publicity materials, developing success stories/case studies etc. The broad responsibilities include:

i.        Prepare good quality project documents, donor and government reports in coordination with the SPMs
ii.      Document program related success stories, case studies, good practices etc. for wider dissemination
iii.    Take lead in supporting and building the capacity of DNRT and DAPCU staff  in documentation    
iv.    Review program data and field reports to capture quality information in donor and government reports.
v.      Prepare training and workshop reports

Qualifications required:
·      Postgraduate in Mass Communications or in Social Sciences / Humanities with degree / diploma in communications
·        4 years’ experience, preferably documenting health/HIV/AIDS programs
·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (Please attach a sample of and/or link to your  work)
·       Attention to detail and knowledge of documents, pictorial aids designing and developing videos.
·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office
