Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) is a non-denominational, non-government organization. 


AKRSP (I) was established in Gujarat in 1984 and it seeks to contribute to rural poverty reduction through community involvement and empowerment that leads to the efficient management and improved productivity of natural resources.


1. Information Technology Officer : 

a. Location: Central Office, Ahmedabad

b. Education: Graduate or Post-Graduate in Information Technology or Information Management or any other related Graduate/ Post Graduate 

c. Experience: Minimum 2-3 years experience in using/developing Information Communication Technology applications. Preference would be given to experience related to development sector.

d. Skills & Competencies required:


I. Understanding of ICT applications in community development;
II. Internet and mobile phone applications development to enable community awareness and participation in government processes
III. Managing / implementing IT projects of social sectors including software / solution development, hosting of the solution, providing network services etc. Experience in Government sector will be preferred.
IV. Experience of monitoring & managing the ICT infrastructure for an IT project including database management, hosting servers, network, firewall etc.
V. Experience in designing/reviewing solution architecture for an ICT project,
VI. Preparation of status reports on technology aspects of an IT project,
VII. Excellent oral and written communication skills in Hindi and English.

e. Job Role:

• Develop ICT based strategies for the project/intervention focusing on improving governance.
• Design and operationalise internet & mobile phone applications
• Coordination with government, especially Block Information Centers and Panchayat.
• Establish systems to collate, analyze and disseminate data from government sources;
• Build capacities of communities and other stakeholders on use of technology for improved governance.
• Develop intervention plan for IT literacy amongst selected cadre
• Identifying and resolving technical problems related to IT.
• Provide technical Support to field teams and government offices.
• Measure results and impacts of ICT interventions and document the same.
