3. JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Manager (Research) shall be responsible for managing and supervising research projects, involving conceptualizing research design, preparing project work-plans and budgets, reviewing interim research outputs, monitoring progress and preparing update reports.
A significant aspect of the post-holder’s time will be spent on coordinating with the research team, liaising with partners, donors and vendors and ensuring smooth execution and high-quality delivery and completion of projects.
The ideal candidate shall have the ability and experience of executing multiple, small and large-scale research projects, simultaneously. S/he will work closely with the research team and other senior staff in conceptualizing new project ideas.

Key Job Responsibilities
(1) Plan, coordinate and execute assigned research projects;
(2) Conceptualize research design, approach and methodology and develop draft proposals for new projects;
(3) Lead and support the research team in completing projects within allotted timelines and budgets;
(4) Perform day-to-day management of the project team and promptly address all team issues;
(5) Prepare project documentations, financial reports and research progress reports;
(6) Assist in employee recruitment, training, performance evaluation, promotion and termination activities;
(7) Act as the primary contact for donor and partner communications;
(8) Support senior management in developing the organization’s research plans and strategies;
(9) Develop contract specifications and negotiate business contracts and terms with clients;
(10) Conduct team meetings to review and discuss project status and address issues, if any.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification:
Masters’ in Business Management, Economics, or Public Policy.
Experience:
(1) Minimum three years of work experience in research, public policy or other relevant field;
(2) Minimum one year of experience in supervising staff.
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Prior experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously;
(2) Prior experience in preparing technical and financial research proposals;
(3) Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills;
(4) Proven problem-solving and leadership skills;
(5) Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially MS Word and Excel;
(6) Basic skills in statistical analysis software (STATA);
(7) Demonstrated interest in labor, employment, and globalization issues;
(8) Legal eligibility to work in India.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
The gross remuneration budgeted for the position is Rs. 8.1 lacs per annum. Offers shall be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and salary history, of the selected candidate.
