2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
Railway Children (RC) is an international non-profit organization,
working since 1995 in United Kingdom, India and East Africa, to create ‘a world
where no child ever has to live on the streets’.
In India, RC works through partnerships with NGOs, as well as directly with the government, in addressing issues of children at and around, major railway stations. These children leave their families and suffer poverty, violence, abuse and neglect. They find themselves living alone, because there is nowhere else to go and nobody to turn to.

While working in India RC provides support through:
(1) Early interventions at and around the railway station;
(2) Protecting and ensuring community/ family care of vulnerable children;
(3) Activating government child protection mechanisms.

works in eight states (Bihar, UP, MP, Delhi, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Tamil
Nadu and Andhra Pradesh), implementing programmes across 54 locations including
20 major railway stations.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Head of Programmes,
the Knowledge Management and Learning
Officer (KMLO)shall be responsible for capturing, organizing,
analyzing and drawing inferences of all relevant data (qualitative and
quantitative), both from within and outside the organization. S/he shall
identify and document the learning of RC and ensure it is communicated
powerfully for future strategy development, fund raising and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
(1) Strengthening the strategy of learning and documentation in
the organization;
(2) Strengthening the ways RC measures and demonstrates outcomes and impact;
(3) Contributing to India strategy, action plans and reviews;
(4) Coordinating and generating analyzed and well-presented information for different purposes and audiences, e.g. reports to donors and supporters and advocacy insight papers;
(5) Organizing information so that it is easily available and accessible;
(6) Supporting the establishment and nurturing of various knowledge sharing platforms and tools, including workshops, one-on-one guidance and case studies;
(7) Developing and sharing innovative methods of knowledge sharing, both across the organization and externally;
(8) Helping formulate and implement research studies on programme thematic issues;
(9) Identifying and contributing to external communication opportunities, which may include making presentation at conferences, participating in networks and representing the organization at various fora and meetings;
(10) Engaging with the UK Marketing and Communications Team, to share relevant content for communication purposes.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification:
Applicants must have a Masters in Social Sciences, Business Management, Journalism, or related field.

(1) Minimum of five years of progressive experience in the development sector, preferably on the issue of children in difficult circumstances;
(2) Knowledge of research methodologies and their application;
(3) Fair understanding of branding and the use of social media, shall be beneficial.

(5) Alignment with core organisational values of bravery, honesty and innovation;
(6) Uphold the values of mutual respect, collaboration, commitment to learning and integrity;
(7) Ability to provide constructive feedback and openness to receiving feedback, with the purpose of collective improvement;
(8) Willingness to travel at least 5 to 7 days a month.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
The offered compensation for this position is attractive and
competitive to market rates. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be
commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
6. LOCATION:
New Delhi/ NCR. (Note: RC is in the process of establishing an
office in Delhi/NCR. The new office will be functional within a year, till
which time staff shall have the flexibility of working out of home and/or a
business centre).
