Introduction:

India HIV/AIDS Alliance (Alliance India) is a diverse partnership that brings together committed organisations and communities to support sustained responses to HIV in India.  Complementing the Indian national programme, we work through capacity building, knowledge sharing, technical support and advocacy.  Through our network of partners, we support the delivery of effective, innovative, community-based HIV programmes to key populations affected by the epidemic.

Alliance India works through NGO and CBO partners to support efforts that have a sustainable impact on HIV.  We place communities at the center and work to ensure that vulnerable and marginalised people are meaningfully involved in all aspects of our response, including sex workers, men who have sex with men (MSM), transgenders, injecting drug users (IDUs) and people living with HIV.  Our programming and policy efforts are driven by evidence of what works; quality and accountability are core priorities in our interventions, technical support and grant management.

Alliance India harnessing the power of four other respected NGOs based in different locations in India, which work collectively on various aspects of the response to HIV/AIDS for a unique fundraising campaign.  The campaign, named as End AIDS India (EAI) aiming to develop a platform to raise funds to combat HIV/AIDS from the public and other non-institutional funders in India.  The EAI Campaign envisages a bold vision - an India with zero new HIV infections, zero AIDS-related deaths and zero stigma and discrimination for those affected by HIV. The four other NGOs contributes to the HIV/AIDS response as part of this unique endeavour are Humsafar Trust, Lepra Society, MAMTA – Health Institute for Mother and Child and Vasavya Mahila Mandali.

Summary of responsibilities:

Reporting to Director: Fundraising, the Senior Manager/Manager – Fundraising will support the effective implementation of End Aids India fundraising campaign in India in a progressive manner and will manage all verticals namely Individual and Corporate fundraising and Digital communications arena. The focus will be mainly to develop Individual fundraising stream however will also support to harness the possibilities of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Digital in India.   

The Senior Manager/Manager: Fundraising, is expected to take autonomous responsibility for the results of his/her team, supporting the Director: Fundraising in ensuring the overall welfare and success of the End AIDS India campaign.

Key Responsibilities: 

1.Strategizing Individual and Corporate Fundraising streams
  • Lead the Individual Fundraising Channel and ensure acquisition and retention targets are fulfilled asper the timelines.
  • Work closely with Director: Fundraising to develop channel collection plans; set critical milestones and strategies for building/maintaining a robust pipeline from Individual, Corporate and Digital channels.
  • Consistently monitor donor, market, and competitor activities and provide feedback to Director: Fundraising and plan revised strategies as required.
  • Support and actively participate in planning and execution of digital/technology based integrated marketing campaigns
  • Develop CSR strategy for the End Aids Campaign and explore opportunities to further expansion the campaign. 
2.       Effective management of Channel Partners
  • Work closely with partners outsourced to manage the fundraising campaign, leading the day-to-day channel activities nationally.
  • In consultation with Director: Fundraising, identify and on-board new channel partners and explore innovations integrating offline and online methodologies for expansion of market and donor numbers.
  • Develop training modules and train partners on how to pitch and improve productivity.
  • Ensure that channel partners have adequate support and ongoing training/education to effectively pitch EAI brand and product lines.
  • Define operational process with channel partners and ensure the same are adhered to.
  • Develop/maintain legal agreements with channel partners and ensures compliances related matters are adequately met in all legal agreements.
  • Liaison with other team members and Linking Organisation (LO) partners to smoothly facilitate support activities (donor visits, local trainings, field trips). 
3.        Donor Relations & day-to-day Management
  • Lead and support donor relations and operations function ensuring highest level of donor satisfaction.
  • Intervene and support for escalated donor queries and issues and ensure that all donor queries are settled satisfactorily within the prescribed timeline.
  • Supervising data quality of donors and ensuring they are received from proper revenue channels and taking adequate steps to improve them.
  • Provide inputs to Operations team for technical supports required in Donor Management Systems (CRM Software).
  • Oversee and ensure billing cycles for channel partners and key suppliers are done timely and as per agreed terms and financial operational processes of the organisation. 
  • Oversee banking, operations and other key supplier relations from the business side of the campaign  
4.        Other Management Responsibilities
  • Work with the Corporate Accounts team to facilitate smooth backend operations.
  • Ensure effective coordination and collaboration within EAI team and with other functions within Alliance India to maximise opportunities offered by an integrated team.
  • Lead the team, through continuous encouragement, setting clear work /activity plans and close monitoring on the quality aspects of the deliverability through a lead by example approach.
  • Strictly follow the organisational work plan and individual activity plan and proactively contribute to the achievement of the strategic directions of the organisation; ensuring adherence to quality and timeliness of the deliverables.
  • Complement the activities of the other departments within the team and provide support wherever required.
  • Act as a spokesperson and ambassador overall for Alliance India and especially for the End AIDS India campaign, protecting and promoting its goodwill at all times with a view to enhance the visibility and to create a brand image for the organisation.
  • Uphold the mission/vision and values of Alliance India and to work within its equal opportunities framework, demonstrating   the behaviours and competencies as appropriate for the position.  
Essential requirements:
Qualifications/Education/Knowledge
  • Degree in Business Management/Marketing Management from a recognised business management institute.
  • At least 8 to 10 years of working experience with progressively management responsibilities.
  • Proven experience in working with fundraising teams in development sector.
  • Prior experience working in fundraising operations activities in the development sector and/or experience in digital communication sphere.
  • Prior experience in CSR activities will be an added advantage. 
Experience Required:
  • Proven experience of developing and maintaining strong and effective relations with donors, and other such stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and flexible and experienced to manage multi-tasking effectively with clear deadlines
  • Hands on experience in managing teams effectively.
  • Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting responsibilities across multiple disciplines.
  • Good budget management track record.
  • Ability to excel in a collaborative environment, be a team player, but also an appreciation of how and when to show leadership.
  • Strong commitment to team-working, collaboration, consensus building and negotiation.
  • Critical thinking capacity with high attention to details.
  • Highly-motivated self-starter with vision, ability to identify opportunities and drive change.
  • Strong commitment to HIV, AIDS and sexual and reproductive health and rights.
  • Ability and willingness to undertake travel, primarily within India.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in English and Hindi.
The position requires a strong commitment to HIV/AIDS and sexual and reproductive health and NGO activities in India, and a strong interest in and understanding the relevant issues.
