1. POSITION VACANT:  Knowledge Management Manager (KMM), Save the Children Bal Raksha Bharat (Location: Gurgaon, Haryana)

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Urban Convener and working closely with the Director, Knowledge Management, for the urban knowledge hub, the Knowledge Management Manager will have the twin responsibilities of:
(a) Setting up the knowledge hub for the global urban program initiative and 
(b) Establishing and running knowledge management mechanisms for the India Office.
Job Responsibilities:
A. Global Urban Knowledge Hub
(1) Develop an urban knowledge hub which will highlight Save the Children’s experience as a leading organization for urban programming for children;
(2) Maintain the urban program page on SC BRB OneNet and assist urban staff to produce capability statements based on the organization’s experience in urban programming;
(3) Design and build the urban knowledge hub. This will entail the following:
(a) Build a repository of knowledge on urban programming and analyze global and regional trends;
(b) Highlight good practices and failures with regards to urban programming – across different countries and regions. This will also entail establishing standard approaches and mechanisms for collecting such practices;
(c) Develop guiding principles for urban interventions. This will include identification of the most marginalized children across different regions and their key issues;
(d) Build the profiles of the urban marginalised population, with focus of children using primary data collected by countries as well as secondary datasets;
(e) Identify research requirements for strengthening urban interventions and facilitate fund raising for the same;
(f) Collate secondary data on the urban trends and analyze the same
(g) Track existing urban hubs on child related issues.
(4) Coordinate with the global regional offices to identify and collate experiences of urban programming;
(5) Coordinate all efforts being undertaken by regional offices for developing their respective mechanisms/hubs for collating learnings for urban programming;
(6) Integrate the urban knowledge hub with the overall knowledge management piece of the organization;
(7) Globally increase awareness about urban issues by showcasing SC BRB’s urban programs and our urban knowledge hub through participation in conferences, forums and advocacy events;
(8) Explore use of newsletter/fact sheets etc. for showcasing SC BRB’s urban work;
(9) Conduct regular events on urban related issues impacting children;
(10) Advance SC BRB’s leadership, within the movement and in the wider development community, in addressing urban children’s issues, a critical unmet need.
B. Setting-up and Operating Knowledge Management (KM) Mechanisms in India
(1) Develop a conceptual note on the knowledge management framework required for the India office;
(2) Develop an operational plan and budget based on the conceptual framework;
(3) Build up a repository of all of Save the Children’s work;
(4) Establish and operationalize a mechanism for collating innovations, good practices and failures within the organization;
(5) Design and implement the dynamic intranet. This would include all the tasks required for intranet maintenance;
(6) Support in developing a system to capture project specific learnings including project success stories and its dissemination within organisation using the intranet;
(7) Develop systems and tools to effectively capture, compile, package and disseminate learning from studies;
(8) Initiate collaboration with the Social Media and ACC Teams to develop easy-to-use notes on evaluation findings;
(9) Initiate the process of becoming a knowledge repository on child protection issues, identifying its unique strengths and role, resource requirements, etc.;
(10) Promote an environment for sharing and using learnings within the organization;
(11) Set-up discussion forums as a mechanism for information sharing;
(12) Take regular feedback from key stakeholders (state and national professionals) on the KM mechanisms;
(13) Manage KM repositories (electronic/physical) for documents, photos etc. and ensure regular update and circulation;
(14) Initiate a newsletter capturing highlights of the organisation’s work;
(15) Develop and manage database using MySQL, Access;
(16) Undertake any other task requested by the Director- Knowledge Management.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Masters Degree in Social Work / Social Sciences / Management/ or equivalent from a recognized institute.
Experience: 
(1) Minimum of 10 years’ of experience in research and knowledge management, with at least five years’ of experience in working on urban issues;
(2) Past experience in setting up Knowledge Hubs in large organizational settings will be a distinct advantage;
(3) Experience in successful planning and management of events including webinars, meetings, and facilitating online discussions;
(4) Experience in building strong relationships across different cross cultural lines
Skills and Competencies: 
(1) Leadership skills to engage professional colleagues across countries;
(2) Understanding of issues of programme learning, policy formulation and advocacy in different contexts;
(3) Proficiency in MySQL, Access; 
(4) Strong analytical skills;
(5) Report writing skills;
(6) Strong communication skills;
(7) Knowledge management skills;
(8) Strong writing, editing, analytical and interpersonal skills.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross annual remuneration budgeted for the position is attractive. Please note that remuneration offered to the candidate selected, shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
