CRY - Child Rights and You is India's premier child rights NGO. We work to ensure lasting change in children's lives by addressing the key reasons that children are deprived of their basic rights like quality education, good nutrition, access to healthcare and the presence of a safe and nurturing environment. We do this in partnership with over 200 grassroots level NGOs led by passionate individuals across 23 states of India. This is only possible with the support of over 200,000 supporters - donors, volunteers and organisations that make our mission a reality.

Your Role:

Your role would involve:

• Drive processes for volunteer acquisition and retention in the region. Take action to motivate and enable people and institutions from diverse backgrounds to volunteer for child rights using their particular strengths. 
• Effectively manage CRY’s volunteer and internship programme in the region by ensuring a steady base of volunteers actively taking action for child rights. Undertake periodic orientation, training and mentoring of individuals and groups of volunteers. 
• Evolve and implement innovative ideas for volunteer engagement on an ongoing basis. 
• Assist Senior Manager, Volunteer Action, North by actively contributing towards the creation of a regional volunteer action strategy and plan. 
• Assist the Senior Manger, Volunteer Action, North to effectively position CRY volunteering initiatives in relevant fora in the region (academia, corporate, governmental and quasi governmental institutions) to achieve CRY Goals.

If you enjoy interacting with people from different walks of life, and have an eye for identifying and seizing opportunities to enable people to translate their care for children into action, if innovation compels you to constantly bring forth new ideas towards promoting volunteerism for child rights, you are the one we are looking for. 

You: 

You must be a Post Graduate in Social Sciences or Social Work from a reputed institute. You must have 3 - 4 years of experience in mobilising/ working with youth/ volunteer groups, leading a team of young minds and have demonstrated the ability to multi task. Strong written and oral communication skills in English and the local language are essential.
