Job Purpose
To ensure
achievement of goals and objectives of the assigned projects in a cost
effective and timely manner, adhering to all the principles of SC BR.
Main Responsibilities
• Ensure
proper assessment of NGOs, recommend potential NGOs for selection
• Ensure partnership development with NGOs – introduce SC BR’s systems and procedures and ensure that the projects under purview are fully compliant with SC BR, GOI and donor procedures and policies.
• Develop and support NGOP’s/ project personnel’s capacities to meet their responsibilities
• Participate and contribute in the development of State operational plans, including budget – broken down into bi-annual, quarterly and monthly plans
• Ensure proper coordination between National Thematic Manager, Education and the NGOPs
• Undertake regular field visits; be in constant touch with NGOPs; monitor implementation of projects - ensure implementation of projects as per the approved plans; take corrective measures to ensure achievement of planned physical and financial targets
• Network and liaise with different stakeholders - Government Departments (specially Department of School Education, Department of Child Development), Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Corporate and other like minded organizations
• Identify opportunities and contribute to undertaking advocacy initiatives at various levels in coordination with the Advocacy, Communication and Campaign Coordinator of the State
• Ensure timely submission of reports (donor and internal): monthly, quarterly, six monthly as required
• Undertake process documentation; build case studies
• Ensure proper management of MIS and related reporting requirements like Reach Data and SC info
• Identify new opportunities for intervention, contribute to project proposal building
• Ensure compliance with SC BR’s policies and practices, including the Child Safeguarding policy

Professional Qualifications and
Experience
Education
Master Degree
in Education (M.Ed.) / Post Graduate with experience in Education Field
Experience
3 - 5 years
of experience in managing/ coordinating Multiple grants on education and
partnership management
Professional Competencies
• Good
experience in partner management skills
• Good understanding of functioning of NGOs
• Good understanding of community mobilisation/ excellent PRA skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
• Excellent report writing skills
• Good understanding of cultural, social, and political issues in West Bengal, specially urban slum context
• Experience of working with Education Department of West Bengal and undertaking advocacy initiatives
• Experience in proposal writing, budgeting and report writing
• Sound IT skills
• comprehensive knowledge of key issues in, ECCE and elementary education
• Good understanding of policy and child rights environment in the state including the Right to Education Act 2009
• Commitment to and understanding of SC BR’s aims, values and principles
• Command over English and local language Bengali/ Hindi
