Senior Education Officer,

World Wide Fund for Nature – India


WWF-India, one of the largest conservation organizations, engaged in wildlife and nature conservation in the country, invites applications from candidates with an inherent sensitivity towards the conservation of nature and exceptional creative skills to take the lead in Environment Education  activities in the Pune Divisional Office.

Location: Pune (Maharashtra)

The Job Profile:
  1. Strive to incorporate the concept of Education on Sustainable Development (ESD) into all environmental education activities and mainstream ESD in the long run.  
  2. Organize teachers’ training workshops, nature club activities, and seminars.
  3. Assist in designing compiling and generating locale specific resource material in the regional language for environment education programmes.
  4. Establish and service nature clubs in schools and colleges in districts and conduct environmental education activities such as Slide shows, film shows, nature camps, treks, competitions, talks etc.
  5. Fundraising actively for educational programmes from Corporates, relevant State Government Departments and other likeminded organizations.
  6. Observe major environmentally significant days such as World Environment Day, Earth Day and World Biological Diversity Day.
Qualifications, Experience and competencies required:
  • Masters degree in Life Sciences / Wildlife Biology/Ecology /Environmental Education.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a development sector organization.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
  • Fluency in English, Hindi and the local language, i.e. Marathi.
  • Excellent Communication and presentation skills.
  • Good writing skills are a must; capability to prepare training modules and generate resource materials.
  • Willingness to travel.
