Position: Consultant- Expanded Service Delivery and Quality

Location: Districts within Agra, Aligarh, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad and Varanasi Divisions

Supervisor: Division Manager

Job Summary

• Onsite periodic TA visit to all public and private facilities, associated with UHI, in the District 
• Ensuring quality standards for FP Services (GOI & WHO guidelines)
• Mentor counselors working in facilities
• Coordination with facilities to organize Fix Service Days as per SOP and guidelines
• Conduct trainings/ orientation with emphasis on Sterilization, IUCD, PPIUCD, Post-partum and Post-abortion Family Planning services, infection control
• Use prescribed checklists and protocols for supportive supervision and mentoring
• Support strategies related to Urban Health in the program
• Regular meetings and coordination with local stakeholders, Health, ICDS functionaries etc., for smooth running of the program at Division level
• Document gaps, findings, complications observed during TA and mentoring visits
• Share feedback reports with CMS/ CMO/ HOD/ Facility in-charge to bring continual improvements in quality FP services 
• Prepare reports based on TA and supervisory visits
• Work closely with Division Manager/ Technical Coordinator on any other work assigned

Desired qualifications and attributes

• OBGYN or public health doctor, with current knowledge of family planning and reproductive health, clinical guidelines and best practices.
• Excellent skills in clinical training, mentoring, and facilitation, and in providing supportive supervision toward making continuous quality improvements by clinicians working in government hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics.
• Ability to motivate and facilitate joint action, collaboration, innovation, and problem solving
• Results oriented, and able to plan, implement and complete tasks independently and on time.
• Good presentation and documentation skills.
• Understanding of service delivery models, quality improvement approaches & tools and their application.
• Proven ability to synthesize and diffuse best practices and lessons learned concerning provider performance, training and quality assurance
• Motivated to improve the health and welfare of poor people living in cities
• Familiarity with the city of application, professional networks, and with working in urban slum areas.
• Ability to speak, understand, read and write in Hindi and English
