JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Resource
Mobilization Manager (RMM) for Heifer India shall
report to the Country Director and work in accordance with HI’s objectives,
policies and procedures and guidelines. The RMM will oversee
resource mobilization through the growth of a portfolio of partners, who
provide funding and other means of support, networking with outside funding
agencies, corporates, other NGOs and government entities and facilitating the
fundraising process.
The RMM will
also be accountable for positioning Heifer India as the
partner of choice for key companies/ trusts/ donors/ government agencies and
for managing communications and networking efforts.
The RMM will
be a key team member, responsible for mapping target audiences and developing
communication and PR strategies to ensure clarity and consistency of messages
that support and promoteHI’s work in India. S/he will develop and
maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the program area and keep
them informed about Heifer India initiatives and be able to
communicate these project-wide and externally. The RMM will
also create and execute partnership development programs that supportHeifer
India’s strategic initiatives and project objectives.
The post holder will
work closely with the Heifer India team, as well as resource
mobilization and communication teams at Heifer Headquarters.
Job
Responsibilities:
(1) In collaboration
with the Country Director, design a strategy and roadmap for
resource mobilization, partnership and communications for the Heifer
India program;
(2) Create, plan and implement all fundraising strategies and activities, building from and expanding upon the success of current private and public efforts;
(3) Manage, write, produce, and submit LOIs, proposals and reports, to regional private individuals and private sector philanthropic and corporate foundations;
(4) Lead the Country teams in the areas of resource mobilization and communication – planning and implementing both internal and external communication projects (including publications, events, mass mailings and website);
(5) Foster and cultivate relationships with the private sector, philanthropic funding community and high-level donors, through participation in relevant industry events, as well as organizational engagement and outreach;
(6) Regularly update and liaise with the Asia HQ Program team and the appropriate Heifer Project India HQ resource mobilization units, on fundraising progress;
(7) Continually track, measure, evaluate and report the achievement of resource mobilization and communication goals and shared values, with focus on recommending and incorporating improvements, as appropriate;
(8) Provide resource development intelligence/ research on upcoming opportunities and develop recommendations for decisions on next steps;
(9) Investigate the trend of donor interests and highlight their inclusion/ priority in the Heifer model, building value propositions for approaching them for funding;
(10) Coordinate communication between Heifer Headquarters and the country program for large grant acquisition;
(11) Develop and implement structured stewardship and communication plans to ensure donors are acknowledged in a timely fashion;
(12) Provide leadership to the India Country Program communications and networking team in public relations;
(13) Identify PR and media opportunities and develop key messages for promoting Heifer India and its strategic objectives;
(14) Coordinate with the Marketing & Resource Development Division, the Global Partnerships and Alliances team and the Business Development Unit of International Programs, on other designated funding opportunities;
(15) Ensure that appropriate systems are in place to deliver resource mobilization strategy, including an effective information management system;
(16) Promote linkages to institutional funding sources and the corporate sector;
(17) Promote and facilitate resource leveraging at the project partner and self-help group level, in coordination with Regional Program Managers;
(18) Assist in networking with other development organizations, governments and line agencies, in promoting the Heifer model and developmental initiatives;
(19) Coordinate with the Country Director and other Country Program Units, to ensure a unified approach in resource mobilization;
(20) Perform other job-related responsibilities, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications:
(1) Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree plus seven years of related experience OR;
(2) Master’s Degree plus five years of related experience.

Experience:
(1) Prior experience in grants acquisition (preferably USAID and other multinationals) and technical writing;
(2) At least five years of experience in strategic partnerships, fundraising or public relations, with a strong communications background.

(5) Knowledge of and connections with the international funding community (US preferred);
(6) Excellent communication and presentation skills;
(7) Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal;
(8) Excellent organizational skills, including strong attention to detail;
(9) Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, power point, web designing and electronic mail software (Microsoft preferred);
(10) Excellent marketing and networking skills;
(11) Demonstrated experience in successful grant acquisition from multiple donors (governmental and non-governmental organizations);
(12) Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate challenging situations to achieve goals and deadlines;
(13) Demonstrated honesty and integrity of a high order;
(14) Ability and willingness to work to a flexible schedule that may require constant sitting, standing and moving; working at a computer for extended periods of time, etc.;
(15) Ability to prepare and present speeches/ presentations, accurate reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals and articles for publication, that conform to prescribed style and format with impeccable attention to detail;
(16) Ability to assign and review the work of direct reports;
(17) Constant face-to-face, telephone and electronic communication with colleagues, potential donors and the general public;
(18) Willingness and ability to travel extensively, both locally and internationally.

The gross remuneration
