Jagran Pehel a division of Sri
Puranchandra Gupta Smarak Trust and an initiative of Jagran
Prakashan Limited*, is actively involved in awareness
generation targeted at behavioral change and advocacy on social issues,
through the innovative use of mass and mid media approaches and stimulating
interpersonal communication.

Jagran Pehel works on a range of
development issues spanning WASH, population, CSR, sustainable development,
education, gender equality and poverty alleviation
Jagran Pehel, in collaboration with one of the world’s leading consumer health
and hygiene companies is all set to launch a project on health, hygiene and
sanitation that shall be implemented in 200 villages across Uttar Pradesh and
Bihar. The project is aiming at creating Sanitation Change Leaders from the grassroots governance
structures, community based organizations and frontline health workers and
build their capacities for sustainable behavior change in the communities of
these villages.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting
to the Project Manager, the State
Coordinators shall
be responsible for project delivery and managing all state level program
activities, in their assigned states.
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1)
Independently plan and implement all program activities in the state including
provision of inputs for program planning, proposal development and drafting
reports, for external stakeholders;
(2) Manage state-level policy and advocacy initiatives;
(3) Engage actively with the state and district officials to take forward project initiatives within the state;
(4) Develop and manage project budget plans;
(5) Ensure quality assurance of outcomes;
(6) Identify and orient district program staff, including provision of on the ground guidance and capacity building inputs, as necessary;
(7) Track achievement of milestones within agreed timelines and report the same to donors;
(8) Provide onsite support to the project management & the senior management of Pehel during monitoring visits;
(9) Support the MLE officer & Project Manager in developing reports;
(10) Represent Jagran Pehel to stakeholders and other external forums.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification:
Applicant must possess a Post Graduate degree in Social Sciences, or equivalent from a reputed, globally recognized institute.
Experience:
(1) The applicant should have a minimum of five years of experience in managing a state project, preferably on health, hygiene and sanitation;
(2) Prior exposure to understanding the result based management of non-profit projects.

(5) Willingness to travel extensively within the project areas.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross
compensation for the position shall be attractive. The offer made to the
selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and
salary history.
6. CONTRACTUAL EMPLOYMENT:
The
successful candidate shall be initially offered one year contract, renewable,
based on performance.
