Jagran Pehel a division of Sri Puranchandra Gupta Smarak Trust and an initiative of Jagran Prakashan Limited*, is actively involved in awareness generation targeted at behavioral change and advocacy on social issues, through the innovative use of mass and mid media approaches and stimulating interpersonal communication.

Jagran Pehel, in collaboration with one of the world’s leading consumer health and hygiene companies is all set to launch a project on health, hygiene and sanitation that shall be implemented in 200 villages across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The project is aiming at creating Sanitation Change Leaders from the grassroots governance structures, community based organizations and frontline health workers and build their capacities for sustainable behavior change in the communities of these villages.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direct supervision of Project Manager, the MLE Officer will develop and implement MLE systems focused on data collection, analysis and reporting so that the project maintains its strategic vision and its activities result in the achievement of intended outputs in a cost effective and timely manner.
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Support all MLE initiatives for the assigned project including monitoring data quality, track progress of activities and contribute to staff capacity building initiatives as necessary
(2) Implement Key Performance Indicators (KPI) as well as monitor them throughout the duration of projects;
(3) Support, develop and implement data collection tools;
(4) Support, design and strengthen MIS format for the project activities and ensure timely submission and analysis of monitoring data;
(5) Analyze, monitor and evaluate data using quantitative and qualitative analysis approaches as well as mixed method techniques; 
(6) Provide monitoring support to the field staff for project activities in project areas;
(7) Assist the Project Manager in preparing Quarterly/Annual reports on project progress and monitor project activities on a regular basis; Review donor reports to ensure high quality reports are submitted on time for the project;

(9) Contribute to project promotion by developing newsletters, website updates, social media updates based on the data & stories collected from the field;
(10) Lead and actively contribute to write technical reports, dissemination reports, technical briefings and research studies as required;
(11) Any other task as assigned by management.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES: 
Qualification: 
Applicant must possess Ph.D., MBA, M.Sc. in Statistics, or equivalent from a reputed, globally recognized institute.
Experience: 
(1) The applicant should have a minimum of five years’ experience in design and implementation of MLE/MIS in development projects; 
(2) In-depth understanding of development issues in the areas of Health, Hygiene and Sanitation is essential; 
(3) Experience in managing multi- year projects supported by bilateral or multilateral agencies; 
(4) Prior experience in data analysis;
(5) Prior exposure to understanding the result based management of non-profit projects.
Skills: 
(1) Demonstrable level of proficiency in Windows Excel and quantitative analysis;
(2) Ability to design MLE tools, surveys, surveillance and evaluation systems;
(3) Demonstrated ability to train and build capacity of others; 
(4) Strong presentation skills;
(5) Excellent verbal and written skills in English and Hindi;
(6) Ability to plan conceptualize and deliver effective projects;
(7) Willingness to travel extensively in India, including rural areas to the program states- Bihar and UP;
(8) Proficiency in statistical software package like SPSS, STATA, SAS.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation for the position shall be attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
6. CONTRACTUAL EMPLOYMENT:
The successful candidate shall be initially offered one year contract, renewable, based on performance.
