2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
Vrutti Livelihood Resource Centre is a not-for-profit society, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1960, in the year of 2004, working directly with communities on livelihoods promotion.

Vrutti Livelihood Resource Centre was established by Catalyst Management Services to address the need for social, technical and managerial resources in the livelihoods sector and serves as a Centre for Sustainable Livelihoods, enhancing people’s well-being through knowledge, innovation and transformative actions  i.e. ensuring that the socio economic status of people is adequate for food and income security; Equitable opportunities and environment to enable people to live with dignity; Revolutionizing people's livelihoods and household prosperity through impactful and scalable models using process innovation (entrepreneurship, business, institutional and financing models) and paradigm changes (using the family as an enterprise; integration).
Vrutti Livelihood Resource Centre works through the following thematic areas:
(1) Growing prosperity of small producers (farm, forest, fish, livestock), and covering other related themes -Water, Financial Inclusion, Climatic Resilience and Energy;
(2) Livelihood and social security for marginalised and vulnerable communities.
Vrutti Livelihood Resource Centre has been instrumental in supporting organizations, networks and individuals in knowledge building, dissemination and policy level engagement. It works nationally with focus on the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The resource centre has offices in North (New Delhi and Bhopal), as well as South (Bangalore and Hyderabad) India, apart from field offices in all project/ work areas.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the CEO/ COO, the Senior Manager- Finance shall be responsible for heading financial operations, including accounting, reporting and statutory compliances, for Vrutti Livelihood Resource Centre across the country. S/he shall comprehensively manage and safeguard the financial interests of the organization, nationally, addressing the needs of all four state offices.
Key Responsibilities:
(A) Accounts Management:
(1) Ensure that books of accounts are maintained and updated as per the organization’s accounting policies, and guidelines/ standards issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India;
(2) Verify payments, receipts and journal vouchers for the finalization of accounts;
(3) Ensure achievement and compliance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
(B)Financial Management Information System:
(1) Manage the collection of data, preparation of MIS reports and the timely submission of reports to theCEO/COO;
(2) Supervise and guide the Finance Manager in establishing financial MIS (FMIS) systems.
(C) Statutory Controls and Compliance:
(1) Ensure that Vrutti Livelihoods Resource Centre complies with all statutory registrations and renewals;
(2) Ensure and verify deductions and their and timely remittance, as per applicable statutes;
(3) Ensure issuance and filing of all necessary forms and returns.
(D) Invoicing and SOE:
(1) Track timely preparation of invoices and Statements of Expenditure (SOEs) including their approval by the team leader and timely dispatch;
(2) Ensure that the invoices and SOE's are raised and submitted, as per prescribed milestones;
(3) Coordinate and follow up with team leaders for the raising of invoices and SOEs for all assignments;
(4) Ensure that SLAs for invoices are tracked and met with.
(E) Cash Flow Management:
(1) Track and follow-up on receivables and budget vs actual statements;
(2) Ensure that receivables are within SLA levels;
(3) Coordinate with banks and other financial institutions, to ensure that sufficient cash is available for operations;
(4) Regularly coordinate with the Manager for cash management and with Accountants for payments;
(5) Oversee and manage the timely and accurate preparation of all reconciliations.
(F) Audit:
Coordinate and facilitate conduct of regular statutory audit with Auditor.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification:
(1) Applicants must have a Master’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounts or related field, from a recognised institution or university;
(2) Candidates having a professional qualification in accounts, such as CA/ CS/ ICWA/ ICMA, or equivalent, will be preferred.
Experience:
(1) Applicants must have a minimum of eight years of experience in the finance and accounts function, including two to three years in a senior management role;
(2)At least three years of experience in the development sector;
(3) Knowledge of FCRA and statutory acts.

(6) Effective verbal and presentation skills;
(7) Computer skills- (Excel, Word, Power point, and accounting packages);

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation budgeted for the position is Rs. 12- 15 lacs per annum. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
6. LOCATION: Bhopal. (Please note that the post-holder shall initially be required to work out of Bangalore, for a period of 4-6 months.)
