ABOUT THE JOB
Program Manager (Sustainable Transport) will be responsible for the design and implementation of a comprehensive multiyear strategy to foster development of cleaner and more sustainable transport systems.

Areas of work will include: Urban mobility (including mass transit, para transit, non-motorized transport, electric mobility and shared mobility); transit oriented urban design; vehicular fuel efficiency; fuel emissions; and transport modal shift. 

He/she will join a select team of program sector experts supported by finance, HR and communications.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sector Strategy for Key Transport Areas – System, Planning, Vehicle and Fuel
·         Develop and periodically update the sector strategy by analyzing the sector context, identifying specific issues and opportunities, and defining targeted intervention measures;
·         Develop the annual operational plan for the sector along with technical and budget aspects;
·         Develop an annual project portfolio plan capturing potential project activities corresponding to various strategic priorities;
·         Conclude project awards by successfully completing necessary pre and post award processes including proposal evaluation, results achievement, budget utilization, etc.  

Grant Management
·         Provide proactive technical direction to ensure qualitative delivery of agreed program results in a timely manner;
·         Ensure timely grant budget disbursement and completion of project activities;
·         Institute internal and external grant portfolio evaluation to periodically document key learning.

Stakeholders Engagement
·         Through ongoing dialogue support relevant stakeholders in usage of project specific outcomes towards design and implementation of sector specific policies;  
·         Collaborate with the larger network to leverage expertise and provide sector updates in India.
 
Fundraising
·         Develop a fundraising strategy for the sector area together with the Chief of Programs and Head of Partnerships;
·         Develop project concept notes and proposals to respond to specific opportunities identified by the Head of Partnerships;
·         Make programmatic contributions towards successful organisation of fund raising events.

Team Management and Organisation
·         Contribute to institutional activities such as hosting summits, conferences etc.;
·         Provide mentoring support to direct reports and interns;
·         Contribute to communications for publications; review publications or reports for thematic content.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
·         Masters Degree in Transport Planning / Urban Planning / Architecture / Environment or related stream from a reputed University / Institute;
·         7 -10 years of relevant experience of which 3 years experience in energy sector is preferred;
·         Knowledge of transport policies, regulations, and programs at national and state level;
·         Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
·         Ability to effectively interact and coordinate with external stakeholders;
·         Excellent planning and organizing skills;
·         Teamwork and collaboration;
·         Drive, Commitment and Ownership;

Selected candidate will be expected to start at the earliest.
