Job Purpose
Save the Children is initiating an education project in
Sinnar block of Nashik district. The project aims to create evidence based
model for improving quality of education for children attending government
schools. It will be implemented in collaboration with Education Department,
local communities and the School Management Committees in intervention schools.
Finance and Admin Assistant under close supervision of the
Project Officer and guidance of Finance and Grants Officer will provide
administrative, accounting and finance support to the project team
Main Responsibilities
• Provide administrative, programmatic and logistical support to projects, workshops, conferences and other programs (i.e. travel arrangements, contact relevant partners etc.;
• Prepare documents related to procurement, recruitment and any other administrative activity;
• Ensure timely payment of rent and other utility bills;
• Maintenance of the proper filing system for finance records and other related documents;
• Maintaining voucher files and accounts books and cancellation of documents;
• Assisting in vender selection processes at different locations;
• Stock updating and maintaining receipt and issue;
• To review and process all bills and vouchers submitted by project team related to travel, procurement and others as per the policy of Save the Children;
• To prepare vouchers including bills, proper supporting vouchers;
• Maintain daily attendance register, leave forms and other HR records;
• Responsible for up keeping and maintenance of office equipment such as Laptop, Desktop, Printer, Telephone etc.;
• Safe keeping of vouchers and other records as per SC BR guidelines;
• Any other task that may be assigned by the Project Officer/SPM from time to time.
Professional Qualifications and Experience
B.Com/related degree with 2-3 years of experience in account handling in a reputed NGO/related firm
Professional Competencies:
• Excellent understanding of financial systems and procedures
• Excellent analytical skills – the ability to analyse complex financial data and design and produce effective management information.
• Ability to operate and promote cost-effective approaches to maximise resources for children;
• Ability to handle computerised accounts packages, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines.
• Understanding of Save the Children’s vision and mission and a commitment to its objectives and policies including Child Protection Policy.
• Written and verbal fluency in English & Marathi
