ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
Ipas
Development Foundation (IDF) is a Section 25 non-profit company,
founded in 1973, is a global nongovernmental organization dedicated to ending
preventable deaths and disabilities from unsafe abortion. Through local,
national and global partnerships, Ipas works to ensure that women can obtain
safe, respectful and comprehensive abortion care, including counseling and
contraception to prevent future unintended pregnancies.
Ipas has been working in India for over a
decade towards strengthening training systems, service delivery of
comprehensive abortion care services and advocacy initiatives to increase
women's access to safe abortions, with the aim of making a positive impact on the
health of Indian women. Ipas engages closely with the government at
the national and state level to provide technical assistance to strengthen the
comprehensive abortion care policy and program interventions. Ipas program’s geographic coverage currently
includes 11 states - Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan,
Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Assam, West Bengal and Meghalaya - where
they work with the public health system to ensure improved access to abortion
and contraception services for women.

DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ipas is initiating a project on Expanding Access to IUCD Services (EAISI) to further strengthen the ability of women to exercise their reproductive rights. The objective of the project is to provide support to the Health Department of different states to improve access to quality Family Planning (FP) services, with focus onIntra-Uterine Contraceptive Device (IUCD) services, by conducting on-site trainings and providing post training clinical and program support to service providers.

Ipas wishes to hire eight Medical
Officer-Training, based at selected district HQs of different
locations of Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh. The post holders will be part of a
three member mobile training team, responsible for conducting on-site
comprehensive Intra-Uterine Contraceptive Device
(IUCD) training
which includes Interval IUCD, Postpartum
IUCD and Post
Abortion IUCD.The incumbents shall additionally be responsible
for providing ongoing clinical mentoring support to trained providers. The post
holders shall report to the concerned State Program Manager.
Key
Roles and Responsibilities:
(1) Conducting
structured, on-site training on IUCD (Interval IUCD; PPIUCD and PAIUCD), to eligible
providers at the facility;
(2) Conducting pre and post training assessment for the trainees and collecting feedback;
(3) Preparing reports based on analysis, sharing the same with the State Program Manager and Project Director;
(4) Providing onsite post training clinical mentoring support to trained providers, ensuring 100% quality service delivery;
(5) Providing orientation to other staff at the facility on women’s rights with respect to family planning services and addressing misconceptions;
(6) Providing orientation to RMNCH+A/ other counsellors in the facility on different aspects of Family Planning counselling and their role in ensuring service delivery;
(7) Conducting audits of the facility to ensure quality, choice and rights based services to women;
(8) Compiling and sharing monthly training plans and training reports with the State Program Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications:
MBBS or Post
Graduate degree or Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Experience:
(1) At least
two to three years of experience of working on Reproductive Health, preferably
in the area of Family Planning;
(2) Experience of working with international NGOs, NGOs, Health Departments, Public Health facilities.

Skills
and Competencies:
(1) Ability to
strategically plan and work in a team;
(2) Ability to read, write and speak in English and Hindi;
(3) Ability to travel 70% of time to village/ block level;
(4) Candidates with prior experience of conducting Interval and Postpartum IUCD training, will be preferred.
