Consultant - Data analyst 

Location: Delhi

Reports to: Principal Investigator of SLAB study.

Works with: Principal Investigator and the SLAB study research team

Context


Population Services International is a registered Indian Society dedicated to the improvement of public health in India. PSI India’s mission is to empower the people of India to lead healthy lives. Over the past twenty years, PSI has collaborated with the GoI and a number of donors to increase the use of modern contraception for family planning, to provide products and services for the health of mothers and children and to decrease the spread of HIV/AIDS. PSI harnesses the vitality of the private sector to address health problems of the low-income and vulnerable populations using social marketing to achieve positive behaviour change by promoting ideas, products and services conducive to better health. PSI promotes and distributes 11 health products, using commercial channels and outlets to make available quality health products at affordable prices. The basket of products includes condoms, oral contraceptives, intra uterine devices, emergency contraceptives, ORS, water purification solutions; IFA tablets; clean delivery kits and pre-packaged STI treatment kit. PSI’s is looking for a qualified and experienced person to help in scientific documentation of PSI’s research and evidence based approaches to solve public health problems in India.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Understand research practices in Clinical Trial research designs. and health intervention programs
• Perform interim and end data analysis of the clinical trial studies using statistical software as SPSS or STATA
• Preparing draft scientific report/ write papers for peer reviewed publication and conferences, develop research and program related case studies. 
• Other day to day job as assigned by the supervisor

Essential Values, Behaviors and Skills

• Strong foundation in scientific inquiry, data interpretation, clinical research study designs and statistical analysis and evidence based approaches to health problems.
• Strong oral and writing skills in English language, especially in the field of scientific writing/editing.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and comfortable within a diverse team 
• Ability to work with computers, mainly MS Word, Power point, Excel and scientific literature review
• Willing to travel (10-15%)

Qualification & Experience

• Minimum post graduate in public health. PhDs and/or post doctoral scholars are welcome 
• Minimum 5 -8 years of experience in relevant field
• Should have prior experience in data (qualitative and quantitative) analysis and scientific writing.
