Reporting Relationship:  Sr. Manager - Knowledge Management

Scope of work:
  • Develop a communications strategy and implementation plan for the organization for efficient internal and external communication.
  • Establish a strong network and system to ensure communication/knowledge sharing among various teams, partners and with global offices.
  • Produce high quality program publications/documentation/research reports, online and in print, to support programs and organisational brand/visibility and resource mobilisation initiatives. Produce case studies and stories to be used on the website, newsletters and funding proposals.
  • Lead and support development of marketing campaigns to enhance reach and profile of the work of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Implementation of the organization strategy and facilitate a culture of internal communication by:
  • Establishing systems to facilitate efficient flow of information
  • Building capacities of the staff and partners to in communication and documentation
  • Capitalizing on the organizational experience and learning, and create evidence by means of identifying priority themes, documenting case studies, good practices and achievements in liaison with program teams.
  • Review and provide editorial inputs to ensure quality, compliance and consistency to organisational values and brand norms in all communication products and publications.
   2.   Facilitate external relations and partnerships by:
  • Producing/update communications material to facilitate visibility of the organization and contribute to meeting accountability commitments (Annual report, Brochure, newsletter program briefs etc.)
  • Brand building – regular updates to Social Media, Website and press releases.
  • Documenting successful initiatives and stories, good practices
  • Coordinate with external agencies for designing, publishing and printing.
  • Knowledge sharing with regional and other global offices: To meet requests for program information from other offices. Provide articles, case studies for global communication requirements, websites and other requests from global office.
  • Support editing and finalization of donor reports
   3.   Support resource mobilization/fund raising by:
  • Converting program briefs and updates into communication material suited to donors/sponsors and other fund raising initiatives
  • Collaborate with program and resource mobilization teams to generate story ideas/leads and support in proposal development.
EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Master’s degree in mass communication, journalism or related discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience of working on child related/ developmental projects
  • Experience of working with government and/or international organizations and/or civil society organisations in similar role
Required Competencies:
  • Excellent oral and written communication/presentation skills
  • Good command over English language is essential and working knowledge of Hindi will be advantageous
  • Proven track record for facilitating communications in the development sector
  • Have the ability to work independently, multitask
  • Be a team player and have outstanding interpersonal communications skills.
