3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES: 
                  
The Program Manager is responsible for managing an anticipated multi-country Girl’s education and leadership project sponsored by a U.S. based Foundation. The Program Manager will lead a global, multilingual team and will have overall responsibility for the design, management and implementation of the project, ensuring achievement of results and objectives. S/he will provide leadership and direction for the program, overseeing project management, strategic vision, communication, quality and timing of deliverables, and overall coordination with partners. S/he will also be responsible for building and managing project teams (domestic and international), reporting to the Project Sponsor, and ensuring quality control throughout the project life cycle which is central to this position.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
(A) Project Implementation and control:
(1) Ensuring project meets internal and sponsor expectations with respect to quality, budget delivery timelines, and strategy. Coordinating completion of and sign off on all project deliverables;
(2) Making presentations and facilitating meetings;
(3) Travelling to and participating in program events (domestic and international) as assigned;
(4) Being available beyond regular work hours to manage activities taking place across multiple time zones;
(B) Project Planning:
(1) Providing input on all project components throughout program lifecycle, including outreach, enrichment and alumni activities;
(2) Creating, or participating in the creation of project documentation, materials, and tools;
(3) Establishing and maintaining a functional and well-communicated schedule for all phases of the project;
(4) Leading the project team to prioritize project work based on analysis of strategic importance, tasks outstanding, obstacles or barriers, budgets, resources, and deadlines;
(C) Project Accounting and Finance:
(1) Forecasting requirements and managing project budget, tracking team hours and expenses on a monthly basis along with Division Director and Finance Manager;
(2) Delivering invoices and following up with sponsors, when necessary;
(D) Project Communication and Sponsor Management:
(1) Communicating progress, risks, expectations, timelines, milestones and other key project metrics to sponsors and team members;
(2) Working with internal divisions to create and deliver formal reporting to sponsor as contractually obligated;
(3) Using sound judgment in all project communication and ensuring that key stakeholders, including the project team, sponsor and senior management are apprised of project activities in a timely manner;
(4) Setting and managing sponsor expectations and day-to-day sponsor interaction;
(5) Continually seeking opportunities to deepen sponsor relationships;
(E) Project Resource Management:
(1) Determining project roles and skill sets required of team members based on project requirements, timeframes and budget along with the Division Director;
(2) Working with external contractors, as needed;
(3) Determining resource requirements (including staffing, software, hardware, and facilities) of project, based on project specifications;
(4) Providing orientation and training to project team members;
(5) Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations;
(F) People Management:
(1) Managing a global, multilingual team in three country locations comprising of organization team members and consultants.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:        
Qualifications:
Applicant must have Master’s Degree in the relevant field - Social Sciences or related field preferred
Experience:
(1) Applicant must possess minimum five to seven years of relevant progressive experience, with at least two years of experience directly related to project management and sponsor services;
(2) Experience working with a global team, and/or managing international teams is desired;
(3) Demonstrated experience leading and managing complex projects that are strategic in nature and international in scope is preferred;
(4) In depth understanding of issues surrounding girls’ education and empowerment is desired;
(5) Experience of project conceptualization, activity planning, vendor management required;
(6) Previous experience of report writing, monitoring and evaluation and communication related tasks are preferred.

(1) Demonstrated adaptability in dealing with changing circumstances;
(2) Proven Diversity awareness and cross-cultural skills as well as proven ability to work effectively across different world regions; 
(3) Ability to build and maintain effective relationships;
(4) Strong interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to interact with all levels of staff and external contacts;
(5) Strong spoken and written communication skills in English laguage, to convey information to individuals and groups of varying educational, cultural, and experience levels;
(6) Strong organizational, planning, and scheduling skills with demonstrated ability to execute multiple projects on time and on budget;
(7) Ability to travel within and outside India;
6. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Essential functions are typically performed in an office setting with a low level of noise. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This position requires availability to work outside of the standard work day, including early morning/late evening hours, and weekends, involving staff and sponsors who are in different time zones. As a Program Manager with a high level of accountability for in-region activities, this position also requires availability for emergency management. The incumbent will be required to travel to project sites.
