1. POSITION VACANT: Manager- Admin, India Health Action Trust (IHAT), Lucknow
India Health Action Trust (IHAT) was established in 2003 by the University of Manitoba (UM), as part of a five-year (2001 to 2006) bilateral development project between Canada and India and registered with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, 1976 in 2009. IHAT aims at improving public health initiatives both nationally and globally, by the provision of comprehensive technical assistance in the areas of program planning, management and monitoring.

IHAT has been providing comprehensive technical assistance as above to the State AIDS Control Societies of Karnataka, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Bihar, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Goa.
At the request of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, IHAT established a Technical Support Unit (TSU) in 2013, to provide integrated and embedded techno-managerial support to strengthen the existing health system for achieving sustained health outcomes at-scale. IHAT is focusing on improving the coverage of key RMNCHA+, Nutrition, Family Planning, Pneumonia and Diarrhoea interventions and services in the state, with funding support from the Bill & Melinda Gate Foundation (BMGF) and the Central and State governments.

Project Background
India Health Action Trust (IHAT) aims at improving public health initiatives by supporting programs nationally and globally through providing comprehensive technical assistance in program planning, management and monitoring. IHAT has set up a Technical Support Unit (TSU) for the Government of Uttar Pradesh to provide techno-managerial assistance to improve the coverage of key reproductive, maternal, new-born, child health and nutrition (RMNCHA+) interventions and services in the state from the funding support of Bill & Melinda Gate Foundation (BMGF) through University of Manitoba (UOM), Canada.
Reporting to the Senior Manager- Finance and Admin, IHAT, UP-TSU, the Manager- Admin, shall be overseeing and instituting all day to day administration activities under the close supervision of Senior Manager- Finance and Admin.
IHAT is looking for competent and committed admin professionals, with prior exposure of undertaking day to day administration responsibilities. This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-level professional, who is seeking meaningful and challenging assignments in Technical Support Unit of Uttar Pradesh.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
(1) Provide direction and functional guidance related to administration issues as per the organization requirement;
(2) Provide overall leadership to administrative unit, set objectives for the unit and provide direction in functional areas to the associates of the unit;
(3) Develop and maintain database of vendors and negotiate with them to procure goods on cost-price basis. Negotiate improvements in supplier performance. To develop proper system and procedure for procurement of items/ goods as required by programme and other units;
(4) Ensure that logistics/storage resources meet organizational needs as well as source goods and services from local and national markets;
(5) Manage customs procedures;
(6) Arrange transport of goods in case of requirement and negotiate with reputed travel agencies to meet urgent organization’s requirements;
(7) Develop system and procedure for procurement and maintenance and vehicles and maintain cost effectiveness of travel / in fuel consumption;
(8) Make effective steps to insure possible infrastructures of organization against mishaps/ natural disasters etc.;
(9) Take proactive steps for obtaining and renewal of license required for different inventories of organization such as vehicle, electronics goods including driver’s license etc.;
(10) Take proactive steps for timely deposit of revenues with connected line departments including building rent;
(11) Provide overall direction for housekeeping, cleanliness of official premises;
(12) Plan and organize different organizational events and those required for programme unit;
(13) Carry out all other assignments given from time to time as per requirement of the organization.
Applicants must be Post Graduate/MBA or holds any equivalent degree, from a recognised institution or university.
(1) Applicants must have a minimum of seven- ten years’ experience in administration activities;
(2) Applicants must have understanding of development sector work processes;
(3) Applicants must possess sound knowledge on local market condition, vendor networking;
(4) Applicants should have sound knowledge on insurance policies;
(5) Ability to withstand pressure of long working hours and odd timings;
(6) Knowledge of local language is essential.

Gross compensation for the position is upto 9 Lacs annually. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with overall experience, relevant experience, interview performance and parity among other staff who are holding similar positions in the organization.
