1. POSITION VACANT:  Head of Fundraising, Charities Aid Foundation, New Delhi (HF-CAF)

2. BACKGROUND: Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) India is an independent non-profit Trust, registered in India in 1998, and part of the CAF International Network having offices in the UK, USA, Russia, Bulgaria, Australia, Brazil, South Africa and India.

The mission of the CAF network is to promote strategic giving. Globally, CAF works with over 3,000 companies and manages over £2.5bn for non-profits and donors, supporting non-profit organizations in over 90 countries.

The CAF network across the world harnesses local knowledge and expertise to design solutions specifically for the benefit of business and the communities. 3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

CAF India is looking for a senior level, business development professional, for the post of Head of Fundraising having experience in strategic fundraising, donor acquisition, development and retention and knowledge of the fundraising market.

The incumbent shall be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase the flow of resources from donors, corporates, individuals and institutions, for charitable cause. S/he shall build upon the existing fund raising streams within CAF India and establish new ones

Main Purpose of Job:
(1) Leading and further growing CAF’s business development work with corporates and individual donors, taking the existing fundraising model to scale;
(2) Focusing on strategic business planning to establish business development processes that deepen existing client relationships, develop new ones and generate increased revenue and growth in fundraising;
(3) Representing CAF externally and enhancing its reputation in the market, as a center of excellence for donors and NGO sector partnership.

Key Responsibilities:

(A). Strategy:
(1) Providing clear vision and leadership for developing the roadmap for fundraising at CAF India, for the next three to five years;
(2) Developing and implementing strategy and a scalable business development model for financial growth, within CAF India;
(3) Developing a business development framework around CAF India’s key giving products for corporate and individual donors;
(4) Revisiting and strengthening the current business development approach for various products (Corporate Account, GAYE, Trust Fund, etc.);
(5) Innovating, developing and supporting new fundraising products, to broad-base CAF India fundraising streams;
(6) Developing and supporting innovative partnerships under various corporate CSR initiatives;
(7) Developing a strategy for regional fundraising and expansion of CAF India;
(8) Providing advisory inputs to corporate and NGO clients.

(B). Management:
(1) Marketing CAF products and services to corporates and achieving business development targets;
(2) Researching and identifying potential donors, cultivating potential donors and communicating with current donors for increased ‘giving;’
(3) Developing new and existing corporate client relationships in the area of Advisory Services;
(4) Developing contacts and networking with different types/ranges of companies, including small and medium size enterprises;
(5) Writing proposals and presentations to pitch for business;
(6) Setting fund raising priorities, goals and budget and quarterly action plans;
(7) Leading client meetings and providing follow-up support;
(8) Providing leadership and support to a strong team of managers for implementing their fundraising plans, achieving individual targets and developing their relationships with companies/ other donors;
(9) Providing guidance to companies on developing CSR policies, partnerships with CSOs and enhancing their knowledge about development sector issues;
(10) Supporting the NGO advisory team on NGO capacity building programs in relation to job role;
(11) Leading on international fund raising projects;
(12) Building the capacity of the internal business development team
(13) Day-to-day administration of the fundraising team, including tracking and updating targets vs. achievements, keeping records up-to-date, etc.;
(14) Ensuring that right skills and resources are in-place to deliver against fundraising plans;
(15) Working closely with other units of CAF, particularly Programs, Marketing & Communications, Finance, Regional Representatives/Offices, and CAF’s Global Alliance, ensuring that CAF fundraising is represented and positioned appropriately;
(16) Conceptualizing fundraising campaigns and also preparing fundraising marketing material and content, with the Communications team;
(17) Effectively using digital media such as LinkedIn, Twitter and Blogs to enhance CAF India visibility;
(18) Supervising the creation and maintenance of database of all donors, including, potential corporate donors.

(C). Thought Leadership & External Representation:
(1) Proactively seeking out opportunities to represent CAF externally in India on issues relating to strategic and effective giving, philanthropy, corporate community investment and social investment and social impact;
(2) Representing CAF India at various national and international forums, in the fundraising and corporate philanthropy space;
(3) Working closely with CAF Global Alliance on strategy and delivery models;
(4) Helping grow and strengthen CAF’s brand and reputation as a provider of strategic advice and thought leadership, demonstrating value addition to corporate clients;
(5) Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:        
 
Qualifications:

MBA and/ or Post Graduate with Diploma/ Degree in Business Management (PGDBM), Marketing, Finance, Communication or other relevant discipline.

Experience:
(1) Minimum 10 years of experience in delivering a range of corporate fundraising products and working with CSR teams, in an agency or business setting;
(2) Proven track record in developing, delivering, managing CSR/CCI projects;
(3) Strong understanding of the Companies Act 2013 and related socio-legal and policy environment, governing CSR in India;
(4) Experience of strategic planning and business modeling, ideally in a cross-sectoral, multi-disciplinary field.

Desired Skills and Competencies:
(1) Strong proposal writing skills and experience of working with target driven business models (financial and/or impact), with excellent skills in power point presentation development;
(2) Strong management, influencing and negotiating skills;
(4) Understanding of the role of philanthropic capital (either private or corporate), in achieving social impact and change;
(5) Proven understanding of effective philanthropy;
(6) Excellent communication skills, including the gravitas to represent CAF at the highest levels within companies and governments and to speak publicly and confidently about philanthropy to corporates and at events;
(7) Proven experience of strategic thinking, development of thought leadership and intellectual rigor;
(8) Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality written outputs;
(9) Proven ability to inspire and lead a passionate and intelligent team;
(10) Flexibility to travel and to attend meetings outside of normal working hours.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross annual remuneration budgeted for the position is approx Rs. 15 lacs per annum. Offers shall be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and salary history, of the selected candidate.

6. LOCATION:

The position will be based at the CAF India headquarters at New Delhi.

Frequent travel in India with potential for international travel to partners and conferences, is expected.
