Function:

Purpose/Function: 

The main purpose of the Wealth Creation Project Coordinator is to coordinate the implementation of the Wealth Creation project whose overall goal is to increase income and employment for smallholder farmers in Western Kenya. The role is responsible for the delivery of the project targeting working with 36 community groups in Homabay, Migori and Rachuonyo and 3 producer marketing hubs in Nambale, Khwisero and Ringo for a total of 8,250 households and 49,500 people. The project is implemented in partnership with Send a Cow who are the main implementing partner and the role involves a field coordination element with the partner that includes joint planning, review, implementation and reporting. The Project Coordinator coordinates the work of the for the project staff in the Homabay field office and the business team in the SAC-K Kakamega field office including coordinating all their inputs into the successful mobilization, training and capacity building of the target project beneficiaries. The Coordinator will liaise closely with the relevant government departments and extension personnel to coordinate extension support for the hubs and the community groups and also support the stimulation of private sector awareness and business linkages. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
The Observatory is a collaborative partnership which brings together interested governments, international agencies, foundations, civil society and the research community. The Observatory's research agenda is shaped by policy-makers, who provide input via the Observatory's Board and through other mechanisms. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
In the context of WHO priority for Universal Health Coverage, the Service Delivery and Safety (SDS) Department works with Member States and key global stakeholders to strengthen health service delivery systems that are safe, high quality, people-centred, and integrated. The department focusses on interventions that improve the quality of health services, from prevention to palliation, with a particular attention to innovations and technologies that improve the health system performance. SDS covers the areas of services organization, patient safety and quality improvement, medical products of human origin, palliative care, traditional and complementary medicine; it catalyses efforts on quality of care from other departments and has a leading role in developing evaluation approaches and training materials for ensuring progresses in equitable access to high quality and respectful health care. Given the high burden of health care-associated infections worldwide as one of the most frequent complications of health care delivery and the many gaps and inefficiencies in infection prevention and control (IPC) programmes, infrastructure and practices in many countries, a new IPC unit is being established within the SDS department in order to provide leadership and comprehensive technical expertise on IPC and to strengthen the support provided to Member States.
